A bit personal, could use some feedback from the ladies

I had my first mammogram on Monday. It showed two areas that they rated a 4out of 5 (thus requiring biopsy) in my left breast. They are very small areas. I saw the surgeon today and the biopsys are scheduled for Monday. I realize it's only about a 1/5 chance that they are anything... BUT that's still 1 out of 5 (which is IMO high). I'm scared to say the least.

I could use some feedback from ladies who have been through this before and come out the other side. I look at a few folks on here like Mrs. Alura and what Jnbsmokin posted yesterday and I think I'm pretty lucky so far... but it also scares me to think I could be facing what they've dealt with.

We are doing a Meetup this weekend in Nash and to be honest I'm so not into the idea, but I'm hoping that if we go I can put it out of my mind for a bit and just "escape" for a while.

The worst part is that what led to me having the mammogram was a complaint of pains in my chest (on the other side)... mainly due to stress from a lot of other things going on. So as if I needed more stress, and now I have it.

Well, I don't know how much reassurance this will be, but I have a fair amount of "lumpiness" in my breasts, and it's always a fun time each year to see if it will be a needle biopsy time etc. But lumps can just be there without any issue or cause for concern and the biopsies can be just routine and more "better safe than sorry" and be absolutely nothing to be worried about.

I hope you can try to not think so much about it until Monday and have a great time at your meet up.

Thanks. SO I take it you've had a few biopsies and come out ok. I keep telling myself it's just because this is my first mammogram and they aren't familiar with what my breast tissue looks like. He's doing an incision (maybe two) biopsy and removing the entire thing. Hopefully he can reach both from one incision but if not, it will be two.

I don't have any useful advice to add here since I've never had a biopsy...but good luck and we'll be sending 'nothing to be found here' vibes your way!
