Operation go be fat somewhere else....

Ok, since my first 'blog' about being fat I've actually gained a few pounds. Worse we were videotaping something (no not that kind of something) where I was just in a pair of cargo shorts and its official I've crossed the Rubicon into what I'd call unattractive.

 

So now I'm in 'do something about it mode' which in this case means 'eat less'.

 

To keep my honest I'll keep this updated every week.

 

Current weight - 223 lbs.

Goal - 210 lbs.

No, I've revised the goal to 205 a bit back. I just found that old add amusing. Shows that snake oil and weight loss had been around a while.

Well despite some 'cheating' lately - 208.

 

People who haven't seen me in a few months all comment on the weight loss so obviously a good thing there ;) Gut is gone. Now I'm looking at my somewhat average muscle tone and trying to find the motivation for that next step and work myself up into Chippendales shape (without roids ;))

 

We are taking a big vacation in a few weeks, so I'll be Caribbean shape for it. Sadly the wife foundered in her efforts and will not reach her goal weight in time. But thats a subject for another post.

Well, let me say congrats on getting down to near the target weight!

 

It's always tough, as you often can't see any difference, but then people begin to comment on your weight...

Time for my narcissistic update, 207.

 

Mrs. Chicup is back on track too and is on the way to being a hardbody.

 

This weekend due to getting caught in the rain I had to take off my shirt in BUSY public washroom to wring out my shirt. I was pretty happy with what I saw in the mirror. Maybe I'll have to do those pictures Fuse after all ;)

Don't be silly... I know you're just teasing :).

 

Congrats on keeping the scale in the right direction. I have gained around 4-5 pounds from where I'd been keeping my weight for a while, and I hate it. My tummy is always rounded, and at my present weight I feel like I have a case of "front butt". Working on it.

We did 'after' pictures for the diet and both the wife and I agree I could lose another 5, so on I continue.

 

Edit: Ok after a really good assessment I'm thinking another 10. I've committed to hard body mode.

Speaking of the wife "you suck" part...

 

Have you seen the animated diet commercial. I forget the product name but it's targeted. They family (husband, wife) go on a diet. The man shrinks, the dog drinks water and shrinks and all that shrinks on the woman are her breasts!.

 

And pictures..it's funny how looking at a picture of yourself is so much more telling than looking at yourself in the mirror.

On a reality check, I don't mind where the boobs go as long as they don't disappear, I'm easy in that department :)

Well I've hit a wall I wasn't counting on...

 

I'm still 205 but its FALL, and my genes are betraying me. The cold weather has boosted my appetite to unwanted levels.

 

Will Chicup continue to lose weight, will he maintain, or will he return to his not so sexy self? Stay tuned!

I just blame my period for that.

 

There's always a "reason", but whatever it is the fact remains that I get HUNGRY and know full well I shouldn't be eating anything until the next mealtime. Or I get bored or stressed or anxious... then I eat. As long as I can limit the damage, I'll be all right.

Well its a year later.

Add that I have more muscle now, I'd guess I'd be equivalent to about 195 from where I started.

 

I declare this operation a total success.

 

Most of America is overweight, and many dangerously so. I realize I had less to lose than many, but the more you have to lose the easier those 'extreme' pounds come off, so you can still transform yourself in a year. (really less)

 

Either way you will be a year older, might as well be a year older and healthier.

 

I think I finally understand the annoying health nut. It feels so much better, you are so much happier with yourself, that you WANT to share it with others. There is an analogy to swinging here. We talk about how we feel sorry for people who don't get to experience the kind of relationships we do with our spouses. The difference is that while bringing up swinging is a social taboo, bringing up diet and exercising makes you that annoying health nut guy ;)

Goalish is 195ish, I think that will be 100% flat stomach time.

 

Fuse: Thanks for the encouragement. I KNOW I won't be in a bad position next year (weight wise at least). This has been a life change.
