Sitting here conflicted. Last week we accepted an invitation to a vanilla party for the weekend, from a woman I know from being involved in various group fitness activities (running, biking, etc). Then last night received an invitation to a house party from a couple we've meet a few times. (They are attending the house party, not hosting). If we were free on Saturday we would eagerly accept the house party invite.

So now I'm conflicted, do I beg off the vanilla party and head for the house party? Feel bad thinking about that, as not a lot of people are going at this point and don't want to make the hostess feel bad. But the house party may be a bust as well, don't think we'll know anyone there other than the couple that invited us. It's not clear if they want to play with us, or are just bring us into their circle of friends (fresh meat..lol). We're not ones to tear off our clothes and jump into the sea of bodies so who knows if we would play or not.

Ugh, the temptation of the house party is strong... Yoda help me :)

WWYD? (What Would Yoda Do?)

As with everything in life you have to weigh the pros and cons. DO NOT LET GUILT SWAY YOU! If you decide not to go to the Vanilla party, dont feel bad aobut it. If you dont go to the house party, DONT FEEL BAD!!!

What is your history with the Vanilla group? Would you bennefit by going to the party? Would you gain anyting by going or by not going?

I dont look at it like, whats in it for me, but I do want to list the reasons I would and would not attend.

Just a thought. Now if you are horny as hell...well, that may be a different matter all together!

Would it be possible to go to the vanilla party earlier in the evening and then go to the house party? We've done stuff like that before. Our vanilla friends tend to wind down earlier than lifestyle people, and you can always leave a vanilla party a little early. A few weeks ago on Friday night, we went to a movie with a vanilla friend. When we got out at 9, we were "just so tired after a long week" we parted ways with him. Headed out to a group meet at a bar, which ended up with us out until 5 in the morning!

Now, with a house party, you may be concerned with getting there before things get really going. But if it's the kind of party where people are more social in the living room and just go off into bedrooms to play, then that might be less weird to walk into at 11 PM or so than walking in on a pile of bodies on the living room floor.

Good luck, and please let us know what happens!

I would suggest what The Fuse said. I would pop in to the vanilla party for a short while and then tell them you also have another commitment to another person and go to your house party. The house parties that we usually go to don't really get rockin' until later in the evening. It might be a win-win situation for all. :) Good luck, and please let us know what happens.

Thanks for the advice. Not a bad idea to do both. I just didn't want to get to the house party too late, after the fun starts, not sure how long the social time lasts. I'll email the couple that invited us to see if it will work if we get there later. 'course another piece of info is that the wife may not be in play condition anyway, as her time of the month started today..not sure how long she'll be out of commision it varies greatly (perhaps TMI, but a pertinent fact in this lifestyle!)

Fuse thats why so many vanilla friends think we lead boring lives.

Chicup: Yeah, us too -- we're the happiest-looking homebodies that our vanilla friends and families know.

Update, what happened (inquiring minds want to know!)

Per advice from respondents we decided to attend both parties. We stayed for a few hours at the first party (vanilla) and had a good time. The conversation was getting interested as we were leaving, as the hostess (a fitness instructor) revealed she had a dance pole in her bedroom and that moved into a conversation regarding strip clubs, of which another couple had gone to a few times. Additional stories about some hot tub, almost swap situations, lol. We just sat there and smiled and thought, if they only knew where we were going next.

We then had a fun time at the house party...a blog is forthcuming on that experience :)
