Fitting Swinging into one's life

Now, this is in now way a complaint, just a commentary on where we happen to be in this swinging adventure.

Over the past decade I (the guy) half was pretty busy: played in a band a few times a month; worked on a masters degree; dealing with kids activities through middle and high school. Well, the band is in semi-retirement; school is done; kids are older. Through this time, we really didn't do a lot on weekends as far as going out, parties, etc.

Now we are on the other end of the spectrum. We have jumped in eyes wide open and having a good time, but geez it is hard to keep up sometimes.

We've been very fortunate (lucky?) to have met a number of couples we click with and see numerous times. We've also gotten into a few house party circles. But trying to find time to meet can be such a nightmare sometimes. With holidays (Easter, mother's day, father's day) family events, travel, and work schedules it seems like we need an assistant to keep up with the various meets (and people, lol) we want to do.

A few months ago I was lamenting about not meeting people, lol, but no longer a problem. As we expand our circle of swinger friends, we meet more and more people who would like to meet up. Typically we meet people at a local M&G that's a lot of fun, as well as house party meetings.

But looking at our schedule we're out to June and July with trying to find free weekends. We love to meet new people, but think we are not into doing everyone that comes along (though some really hot couples have expressed interest!) There's probably some times here and there for spontaneous meeting, but trying balance regular encounters with the couples we've connected with and couples we would like to meet is a head spinner.;)

I agree - sometimes there just aren't enough weekends in a year. One thing we've done is host our own house parties. That helps a lot when it comes to getting together with several couples you'd like to get to know better. You probably won't play with them all, but you'll get lots of time to get to know them, then proceed from there.

Another thing we do is our annual campout. It's a 3-day affair that attracts a huge crowd. Great for meeting lots of people and taking things into a camper later if you feel like it...

I don't know why this posted twice. Sorry for cluttering up your blog.

I hear you, but for us the frustrating thing is that everyone ELSE is free on weekends....but Speed and I both work!

LOL, so Who's free on a Tuesday night?!

We would not mind a weeknight meet either, just would have to be an early end to deal with work the next day.

Mr. NC does work weekends, but with kids, we have the normal weeknight issues of homework, etc., so we are definitely "weekend warriors". He just has to goto work tired and hungover occasionally.....

I hear you. We've actually started telling couples who look "nice" that contact us online (maybe one a week) that we just aren't meeting anyone new right now- can't remember the last time WE initiated contact. That and we've decided to cut back on the couples we're currently playing with to the ones that we have really strong chemistry with. Because when we really like a couple, we don't want to have to wait months between playtimes. God bless the house party- a chance to meet new people without "using up" a whole evening on one couple!! (although have gotta say.. our success rate with the "meet for drinks" approach has been phenomenal. We are VERY lucky)
