When It Rains...

Suddenly, over the past few weeks, we've had more activities than we actually prefer. I'm sure we've not been this active outside of a poly relationship or weeklong vacation with playmates.

Mr. Fuse and I had sort of settled on an approach of casting many lines, because we found over time that most of the time the hooks came back empty. We'd also started taking the attitude that when we get a chance to play that we're excited about, we should take it. There had been too many times when a chance we didn't take turned out to be the only one with those people. I'm also talking about simply going out and meeting people, not necessarily playing -- though we've been doing plenty of that.

But statistics say that sooner or later a whole bunch of coins will come up heads (ha ha ha), and that's what's happening. It's almost too much. Our temperament is a bit more deliberate and we like to let each experience settle a bit, sort of like letting a wine's finish develop for a while before taking the next sip.

I'm sure this will settle down very soon and we'll be looking back on this time fondly during our next "drought".

We can relate as we've become friends with a number of couples that we periodically see, connecting with new people online and a number of house parties and M&Gs. It's a lot of fun, but does tend to wear us out as well as the at times frustration in trying to find schedules that work for all. I was thinking of posting a forum question regarding where people draw the line on meeting others as far as frequency (for those that have that opportunity. I know many don't for a variety of reasons)

But as pointed out in Julie's blog post, it's good to get momentum and keep it as once it gone it a tuff uphill climb!

Mrs. CXXC and I do the exact same thing. We go in spurts. At one point, virtually every weekend is taken up by LS friends. Then, we go for months without even a single meeting. This too is due to Family and friends visiting or our work schedules etc... Life really can get in the way at times.
