That Guy!
Last weekend I had and accepted the opportunity to attend a house party. The hosts, a couple Mrs. CXXC and I had entertained at our home months before, are truly wonderful and loads of fun. In the year that I have known them, we have gotten to understand each other quite well. So, needless to say, when they extended the invitation to us to attend, I jumped on it.
Unfortunately, Mrs. CXXC had to work the evening of the party and could not attend. The hosts were gracious enough to continue to extend the invitation to me as a solo and vouched for me to each of the other attendees. Like I said, these two are awesome! As the days drew closer, I pondered over my presence at a house party as a single male. The guest list showed all couples and eventually one single female joined the list. Ok. I would not be the 5th wheel! WHEW! However, I was still going stag. How would I be viewed at this party? Would I have the opportunities afforded me when Mrs. CXXC is with me? Will I be denied or turned down throughout the night? These questions plagued me as I counted the days until the party.
Its funny! I have an inordinate fear of being tardy. It is not quite a phobia but it causes me to generally arrive before most others or early for appointments. I have a saying, “If I am not 10 minutes early, I am late!” so much for being fashionably late. True to form, I was the first attendee to arrive. The hosts met me with a hug and a handshake. We chatted, laughed and waited together for the other guests to arrive. And that they did. Slowly and couple by couple the house filled up. I believe the total number of bodies ended up being 15. It was something to see, hear and, well, do!
Again, our hosts were spectacular. There was never a dull moment. One room was being used for a photos shoot while other areas of the house were hubs of sexual activities. In any given moment, all that the viewer needed to do was open their eyes and they would be blessed by the exciting view of sexual activity.
The drinks flowed like water from a river. The foods, simple yet perfect for sustenance, were readily available and conveniently located. The home, itself, is laid out perfectly for such activities. The large back yard and huge back deck were perfect respites for those needing a breather or simply to take in the sultry summer air.
Humor was almost the theme of the night as at any given moment you would hear an eruption of laughter from this group or that one. Smiles covered every face at one time or another. No one felt left out or alone at this party. I felt as welcomed and wanted as anyone there, in spite of flying solo. In fact, I was asked to join in on several activities throughout the evening. That certainly makes you feel good.
As I lived an hour away and the night had gotten away from me, I had to leave the party at 02:00 for home. My day started VERY early and I could not afford to be less than 100%. I bid each and every guest good night with the appropriate hugs, kisses, gropes and handshakes. Once I reached my home my head barely hit the pillow before I was a visitor of the land of Mab.
I called my host the next morning at 10:00ish. Never call the host of a party too early in the morning. In fact try to avoid calling before noon! His voice sounded weary. In fact, I had to ask if he had been able to get to bed at all. He informed me that the last guests of the party left at 09:00 that morning and that the party continued on after I had left. It seems everyone decided to separate into other rooms and areas for some one-on-one play but after an hour or so, gathered in the main living room. It was there that a large group activity followed. AND I HAD TO LEAVE EARLY!!!!
In speaking with the other guests over these last few days, I have learned a couple things.
1. NEVER LEAVE a party early!
2. Being a solo flyer is not a bad thing.
I had a fantastic time and met some truly wonderful individuals. The people at this party were from all walks of life and lifestyle levels. There were even a couple Vanilla people. Well let’s just say they are no longer Vanilla. The house party was a great success. Another party is planned in three weeks. Unfortunately, I will miss that one. Perhaps Mrs. CXXC can attend without me?
I look back at the week before the party and realize I was stressed and worried for nothing. Being the solo flyer at a house party was not a bad thing at all. No one looked at me like I was “That Guy!”
