I turn 50 next week. And I am having the time of my life!!

My sweet PB is hosting 2 parties for me. This Saturday night I get the house party... on my actual birthday I get the open house. While I have given into reality and decided to make some food for the parties (you have to understand... I AM the party food queen!- with control issues), my basic role is to enjoy myself. Oh, I will.

I have some of my favourite people attending the house party... one of them at least bringing some leather with him... and MAN I crave me some leather. I have reserved our bedroom for ME- that's ok, the other 25 or so will have lots of room to play in. But I get to be the diva for a day (or night???)

What I love about this new circle of friends is that they are friends. I felt sorry for a couple advertising on one of our websites saying "They should not want any further contact from us afterwards and respect that we don't want any from them."

Okay, if that's the way you want to play, that's your prerogative, but how limiting! OMG. We can drop by our friend's coffee shop and chat for an hour about any number of topics (okay, what we did or they did Sat night does come up lol), or chat online with another friend about housecleaning or jobs or kids or parents. Because they are FRIENDS. Not friends first, we moved pretty fast into fucking them, but they have become real friends that we can be totally open and honest with, and that is a rare and precious thing.

And I am TOTALLY looking forward to seeing them and about 20 other friends at my house party Saturday night! Like I said, this lifestyle is great!

Thank you, everyone! We had a fabulous time last night! Really, is there any way to enter one's 6th decade(egad!) than with a full-blown orgy? Everyone who said they were coming came (and came, lol), and I got to be the diva for a day and loved it. Made some new friends, caught up with some old ones... and so funny when one couple sees another one arrive, and starts laughing, because they already know (and I mean KNOW, baby!) them, but had no clue that we were mutual friends. That happened twice last night. Yes, it is a small lifestyle world, and everyone was glad to see each other. We also got to introduce some good friends to others, and watch them hit it off. I had to do some email address forwarding this morning so they could keep in touch. Always nice!

I also got the world's best birthday cake- it's a barbie doll in a hot tub. Too adorable, made by a good friend who is an artist in butter cream frosting. But I'm afraid to eat it! Luckily it's really quite respectable,(makes reference to a play I was in, where I played a rather naughty lady- ok, VERY naughty lady!) so I won't mind my son the cake monster seeing it when he gets home from his weekend away. It won't last long then.

I know I'll enjoy my vanilla party next week too, with good friends and family, but DAY-UM!! That was some party.
