I find myself in a unique situation.... I am 53 years old and still NON MENOPAUSAL!!! So I trot my happy self off to the Gynecologist for some reliable birth control. J and I are new to the LS so talking about this to my GYN is somewhat stressful to say the least! No where near as stressful as a pregnancy would be since J had a vasectomy in 1983....

I also have a newly aquired a hood piercing and am clean shaven (also new). OMG, What is the Doc going to think?

OK , Doc comes in and asks, You need Birth Control? Yes, My Husband and I have aquired a new lifestyle and it is necessary. Oh, says Doc, you have a new husband? No, I reply, we are going to have different partners. He then asks what have we been using and I reply that J has had a vasectomy and he asks why I need birth control so I then spell it out to him. MY Husband and I are becoming involved in swinging and will have additional partners and not all will be vasectomy safe. His reply was OH! Then he asks, Do you need STD testing and I say not at this time, as of now neither one of us has had any other full swap partners, again I get an OH!

By Now I am wondering if I am going to be doing CPR on this Doc after he gets a load of the lower area with the jewelry and shave, not that Grammas can't have these but it is new for me and can't you see me now, buck naked doing CPR and yelling for help all the while denying any idea what had caused this.

We get thru the exam and the birth control taken care of and I am out the door and do not have the Doc's coronary on my shoulders, at least not this year

Later Gators,

Glad to hear the doc survived the visit, though you did present quite the imagery there! My doc just cracked jokes with me when I went to him about getting my tubes tied. I don't think any adornments to that area would phase him in the least.

JoAnn's GYN is a former member of the Israeli Defense Force and is a charter member of every womens' advocacy group you can think of. So we are thinking, she has heard everything and seen everything and cannot possibly be surprised by anything. So JoAnn, having heard that nothing should be held back from the doctor, tells her about the men she "sees" and about the women with whom I am familiar. Well, the office manager has to come in an lift her up off the floor after she almost faints. She sees us off both with big boxes of condoms and tells us to be careful, recommends to JoAnn a big list of "tests", we are almost thinking that we will revel in finding "something". She doesn't. We are pleased, of course. Anyway, the point is, physicians are human (I'm sure you know that). But the principle of keeping things private keeps them very much bound. Don't be concerned for what the gynecologist thinks.
