Three dates in four nights, Part II

We originally planned to meet up at Smokey Bones, but our guests suddenly didn't have a sitter. They asked if we would just meet them at the house. They have some nice feedback on their SLS profile, and the couple we had just met in Part I knew them also and said they were great people.

So, we made the 45 minute drive to their place. They said we didn't need to bring anything, but we brought strawberries and homemade whipped cream anyway. Yes, we were nervous, but that was put to rest immediately when we were greeted at the door by our female host. We exchange hugs and kisses and made our way inside where we had some wine, crackers and dip, and some absolutely wonderful conversation. They have been in the LS for a few years now, and while they are the same age as us, we felt much like students as we listened to their stories, experiences and cautionary tales. We soaked up every bit of info we could.

We moved to the back porch and continued on. Mrs ended up giving each of them a massage (which they both enjoyed). We mentioned our meeting two days prior with common friends. We talked about our recent experiences, how we got into the LS, and what we are looking for. The words flowed just as effortless as the wine.

3 1/2 hours later it's midnight and we've got to get on the road. We again exchanged hugs and kisses (female host surprised me with a stroke across my backside). We all agreed that we had to do this again soon, and considered Saturday night to be the opportunity.

Mrs and I drove home happy and eager. Two dates, two positive experiences. We're happy.

Epilogue: Got a text from the male host saying Saturday might work for them (sitter issues apparently clearing up). That was followed later by a text saying "Thanks, but no thanks." While they gave a reason (one that was unnecessary), I thanked them for a wonderful evening. Yeah, we are a bit disappointed, but there is no ill will. If we bump into them at a party we wouldn't hesitate to greet them.

Speaking from the point of view of 20/20 hindsight, some of our first few experiences lifted us up, some got us down, we now know much better what to expect and how to handle things. You two seem to be learning much more quickly than we. Wishing you a continued good time with all your explorations.

Thanks a bunch. Yes, there are ups and downs. When I broke the news to Mrs, she admitted she was almost moved to a tear. But alas, we're quickly finding there are so many wonderful people to meet, and this stretch of four days allows us to pick right up and continue on without dwelling too much.
