Memorial Weekend Fun
I’m taking a step backward here, in posting about our Memorial Weekend. But
It’s a fun story, so I think ya’ll will possibly forgive me. My husband’s final paper for his Master’s degree was due on Memorial Day. He had the paper finished by the Thursday before that, but we lost our internet connection due to a thunderstorm.
We still did not have internet by Sunday morning, but were on our way to our friends’ annual Memorial Weekend party, so we drove around looking for a wifi hotspot. We didn’t want to bug our hosts with this request, as it was a huge party and we wanted to be able to relax and enjoy it . We found a connection at a McDonald’s, of all places. Mr. Sweet posted his paper, and off we went.
We arrived at the party to find not only our good friends and the folks we see each year at the parties, but there were also a bunch of college boys. Mr. Host had been inducted as an honorary of a fraternity at his alma mater. This was provided a lot of entertainment for my friends and me, as we got to ogle lots of cute college boys and laugh at their silly antics. My friend Wilma and I got roped into a game of Flip Cup, which we’d never even heard of. It’s basically a drinking relay race, and we held our own with the college boys!
The most hysterical part of the evening was when the frat boys began debating the big question: If you had to give up cheese or blowjobs for the rest of your life, which one would you choose. Most of them actually answered blowjobs! Their “logic” was that after you’ve been married awhile, you won’t get blow jobs anymore, anyway. Wilma and I just laughed and told them they need to talk to our husbands. I told them they're meeting the wrong girls.
Later, she and I decided to make use of the trampoline. Our host thought it would be fun to turn the hose on us, which was not amusing. We huddled at the back of the trampoline and started making out to keep warm. But Mr. Host wasn’t through with us. He came back with a pitcher of ice water and threw it on us, then proceeded to climb onto the trampoline with us. That was a big mistake, since he ended up with a lot of ice down his pants. Things might have gotten more interesting from there, but Mrs. Host called him back to say goodbye to departing guests.
The next day, some of our closer friends enjoyed a little cookout at our place while we nursed our hangovers from the day before. Good times.
