Interesting Evening

So we were at a loose end on Saturday night, didn't feel like clubbing it, and headed out to a house party an hour and a half away we'd never been to. Don't know if we'll go back again.

Had to pay $20 at the door. I know, that's how some people do this, but in our core group of friends, it's a party, not a paid event.

PB had to wear a wristband. At a house party.

A series of small rooms (and I mean SMALL) The guest list was huge and I don't know how they'd all fit in there.

A very mixed group of guests. Some we knew, some we liked. No one we'd played with previously. Oh wait, I lie. A single guy I'd played with at another house party who had turned out to be not so single after all. He was there. As a single guy.

Oh, and a couple we'd chatted with online a couple of times, then met at a club and discovered he was much older than he claimed to be. He reminded me of PB's grandfather.

There were a couple of women that PB liked a lot, but I was tired, claustrophobic, and the music was too goddam loud. So I pulled rank and we left. The women will be at the hotel takeover we're going to next month, anyway, so he's not totally out of luck. (they liked him, too)

I almost forgot the thing that pissed me off the most there. They were using their children's room as a playroom. The toys were still piled in a corner, the baby monitor was in there. I was not impressed. I have respect for my son's space in our house, and lock his door when we have parties.

So we headed out. PB was not really happy about leaving at first, but by the time we hit the grocery store at midnight to pick up last-minute Thanksgiving dinner stuff, he was better, and we decided to hit last call at our favourite hometown bar.

Some of our favourite vanilla people were there, and we sat down and had a great hour or so socializing with them, before heading home and having smokin hot sex.

In fact, the time at the bar was really a hell of a lot more fun than at the house party. So in the end, the evening was great, just not the swinging part of it.

Talk about three strikes and you're out.

Glad you were able to salvage the night though. The best swingers always do manage to do so, don't they. ;)

Sounds like you made the best you could out of a dismal party situation. Glad the night ended on a good note!

=)
