When did Temptation Cancun first open ?

I think I am suffering from a Mandela effect. Because I cannot find much info about it. I am pretty sure I seen Temptation Resort in the early 2010s. I know they had there relaunched in 2017 and me and my husband have been there in 2018 and 2019.
Me and my family were at Cancun in 2012 for a family wedding at a normal resort. I am pretty sure I remember on the bus ride back to the airport we stop at a few resort to pick other people up to the airport and ask a couples how was there trip at X hotel. One of the groups I am sure one of them have said, "we should have gone to Temptation". And on the bus ride back at the airport I am certain that I saw Temptation.
Also I remember from old travel brochures from our vacation airline that they had it too. I remember seeing more red at the resort then the multi color that they have now.

Am I imagining thing or was there a Temptation resort in the early 2010s.

What seemed at first to be an easy question, isn't. Part of the problem is that the first hotel built in Cancun was the Playa Blanca built in Sept 1974, apparently by The Original Group (who still owns the resort today). This later became the Blue Bay hotel, and eventually it became Temptations Resort. It's made more difficult because they did a major rebuild/update that they opened with a second grand opening in August 2017 so searching for the 'grand opening' gives you a bunch of links to the 2017 re-opening. It seems like the actual opening date is kind of concealed since they don't want people to think the facility as being 'old' or 'dated'. Someone else may know when Temptations opened, but I guess it can be argued that the resort opened in 1974...

Now that my brain is more awake since I made the post, I did a bit more research on YouTube and find that I was not crazy. The oldest video that they have on Temptation was made 10 years ago. So I am pretty sure that the same Temptation existed in 2012 and probably before that. There also same old reviews from old travel site that manage to survive over the years.

Curious though, when the transfer of Blue Bay hotel to the adult theme Temptations Resort that many of us enjoyed happen. I am not gonna give myself a headache in searching but at least I know I am not crazy and losing my mind. LOL The Temptations I recalled existed.
