Attend TampaArotic's Halloween Hotel Takeover as a Single Male or not?

I purchased a ticket to the TampArotic Halloween overnight takeover party.  I am a single male and thought it might be fun.  I don't have a date as of yet.  Having been to LS events in the past I found it a little awkward when separated from wife.  She got a two hour massage and I was sitting in the hot tub.  Just felt more comfortable as a couple, even though she was only gone for a massage and spa treatment. 

 

Not knowing anyone going what are the thoughts here?  Pass on the event.  Go to the event, it might be fun.  See if I can talk to attendee's before the event.  If it works out to meet other guests (even just platonically as friends), then go.  If no one responds, don't go?

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.  I say go for it.  Lots of couples enjoy single males so you might get lucky.

Just for a follow up on this.  The party went well.  There were 3 floors blocked off for it and a dance floor and ballroom set up.

 

Lots of people that were very nice there.  They layout made it a little difficult to interact with people you didn't know.  No couches or lounge chairs.  There were small tables.  I didn't kill it on being out going just kept it normal and friendly.  Didn't want to impose on people and It seems most people knew each other.

 

That said there were some really nice and friendly people there.

 

Staying in the ballroom was actually not the best part.  The best part was riding the slow elevators.  The comedy and entertainment there was too notch.  I found myself going back to my room for any reason just to ride the elevator.

 

Would I go again as a single male?  Not unless I knew some one going.  Even if that was an online message to meet up (socially) or something similar.  Some of the events seemed a little disorganized.

 

The room discount rate, the blocking off of floors despite it not being a total hotel take over were pluses.  It definitely wasn't a waste of time or money.  I went in with no expectations and had some fun jokes and interacted with some really cool.people.

They had this amazing haunted house vibe with awesome decorations and everyone was dressed to impress. I remember feeling a bit nervous at first, just like you described, since it can be tough to break the ice. But once I started chatting with people at the bar, the vibe shifted, and I found some really friendly folks. I can totally relate to the elevator entertainment; sometimes those little moments make the night! Your experience at TampaArotic sounds like a mix of fun and challenges.
