Bringing up the icky thing

Recommended Posts

Here's the thing - we don't play during Mrs Spoomonkey's period. I am one of those sissy boys who just doesn't like it... Heavy... Light... Doesn't matter to me...

I have a computer...I can take care of myself :D

But when your playmates are asking to get together for play - how do you tell them no without lying? What do you say when nature makes play out of the question?

We just tell them the truth. It hasn't been a big deal yet. The response we got from the female half of our most frequent playfriends was "thank god I'm fixed and don't have to go through that anymore!".

Spoo... I am so disappointed in you...you are a wimpy monkey

Just tell them wrong time of the month, but next weekend would be great.

That is a good idea.

I just want to not make people feel weird, you know?

Okay - I am paranoid when it comes to some things... Funny how I am the blushiest person I know when it comes to some things - but show me a pole, and I'm dancing on it; show me a room full of fun - and I am the first one naked...

Weird, huh?

"Mrs Spoo is menstruating...we'll have to play next weekend."

Seriously, it's no big deal to talk "period" talk. I'm with TNT, I can't believe you're uncomfy with this subject Spoo.

I guess it just doesn't bother me...there have been times when it was that time of the month but we have kept our play date anyways as it was the perfect opportunity for me to sit back, play in whatever way I was comfortable with and be the designated camera person for the night. Ted loves having a cheering section when he's at play :D

Be that as it may... :D

I am one of those guys who doesn't want to tell a single guy friend that his wife is menstruating...

It's just me...

But, I must repeat...

ICK...

I guess I am just one of those guys who can't talk about it without getting a really hot blush on... And I am usually in the place of making plans with single guys - so it happens...

poor spoo....just tell them that your wife is "broken" this week. Most know what that means and you don't have to say that horrible word you are afraid of. We have never had a problem talking about that with others...just say broken or bad week. Works for us since we won't play during that week either.

We have run into this situation more than once.

We let them know we are interested but Mrs naughty got her monthly visitor a little earlier than expected.

People understand these things happen and we have never had anyone stop talking to us. As a matter of fact we have even had a couple who said that doesn't bother them if we still wanted to play.

That is why they have those WONDERFUL Depo-Provera Shots...a woman NEVER has to worry about those uncomfortable moments...it's GREAT!!:claps: I'm sure everyone can agree that single ladies are not the easiest to find....I sure do not want to worry about an unwanted visitor arriving :nono: on or around an evening when are entertaining a Lady.

Yes, the Depo shot is an option but it has side effects that can definitely wipe out any positives it offers. Of course the side effects vary from person to person and for some it just really isn't a viable option.

I have never had any problem with intercourse during "Aunt Flo's visit". However I think it would definitely put a damper on it with someone outside of my spouse.

Luckily, we haven't run into the situation where others want to play when the other Mrs. is in her cycle. I think we would take a raincheck. Mrs. WS is bi and she likes to get hers while we're there, and I know she wouldn't want to "go south" then.

Hmmmm, I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that have never experienced any side effects. No worries about it arriving, no annoying cramps or that uncomfortable bloating feeling & the one that "M" likes the best....no PMS. :claps: LOL

But you're right...it is not for everyone...but it is an option that could be discussed with one's doctor.

ahh don't feel bad Spoo....my hubby can't say it either without looking like Hank HIll... . We don't play then either...I am just too cranky and uncomfortable and he just leaves it up to me to tell our dates this, and they understand.

For me it was the opposite - I bled CONSTANTLY for three months, I was depressed & I had no sex drive whatsoever. I'm currently on Seasonalle which has been great-only one period every three months! :)

One more thing-my doctor told me I really shouldn't have been on it because I am at risk for osteoporosis due to a family history & depo depletes your calcium stores. Or something like that.

I'm with you Spoo, I always had a hard time dealing with scheduling and kat's periods.

And if she finds this thread, beware of her telling about me going out and trying to buy her tampons.

If I might make a suggestion? Keep a rough calendar about when you expect her monthly visitor, and don't schedule anything, as in you've already got plans. Works pretty well if she's pretty regular.

In reply to Mrs-naughty....sorry to hear that the Depo had that effect on you. Strange how it effects people in so many different ways. I have never heard of Seasonalle, but having it just 1 in 3 months isn't bad...was there weight gain with that? I know with Depo women have experienced sometimes a considerable amount of weight gain. I did gain 5-7 lbs. and it seems that it all went to my butt & thighs LOL. Being vertically challenged at only 4'11, any weight gain is noticeable...but that's the only side effect I experienced & with the advantages of not having "it"...I can work on that 5-7 lbs.

I had a horrible experience with Depo.

I had no sex drive either and suffered early onset ovarian faliure- before the age of 30!! Hot flashes, mood swings and no period for almost two years AFTER I stopped getting injections.

This was my experience as well. I was contanstly spotting which ruined the mood, though it killed my sex drive so there wasn't that mood too often. The worst part was after dealing with all that for a year hoping a subsequent shot would stop the bleeding I ended up pregnant on it after all.

What is this Seasonalle? I've never heard of it.

And as for the original question I have no problem telling anyone that it's the time of the monthly uglies. To our good friends all I have to say is "I'm broke this week" and they understand. Occasionally my husband and I will play together on the lightdays but we prefer to just wait and make up for lost time.

We have had this come up numerous times. We just let the other couple know it's "that time of the month" and have never had a problem. Occasionally we even go ahead and play but Mrs. GT just doesn’t take her panties off (people who know her well get the clue immediately when the see she has underwear on, as that is the only time she ever wears them). I'm like Spoo though, when it's that time of the month we don't go their either, ICK!.

The shower is a great place to have icky sex. Cleaning is easy and I clean his penis so he does not have to see anything on it.

I just tell them sorry, I'm not feeling good this weekend, maybe next week.  It's not a lie, my cramps fucking suck.  In the end you don't owe them an excuse, if its not a good time its not a good time.  We all have lives.

Clair and I use bc where we don't have periods and Lora has an IUD that keeps her periods very light.  But before that none of us had any problem with period sex, just throw down and old towel.  I sort of needed it during that time.

In the chat tonight we started talking about why people DON'T use condoms, so I thought I'd post this poll here for everyone who doesn't use condoms or only uses them part of them to just see why.

Please don't turn this into a debate over whether or not they effective. Post your reasons and leave it at that... no need to debate.

Took the wife to an on-premise swing club last Saturday.

She was looking good and in a playful mood.

She neglects to tell me the big red dragon was in town until we were almost there.

Yes, she was on her period damn it.

She was hit on by two different women who wanted to give her oral as well as a black man that she would have played with.

We did get in the hot tub naked with another couple but alas, no sensual contact that night for anyone.

Has the 'big red dragon' as I call it ever put a damper on your playtime?

Ok, so I’m curious. Hubby and i really want to go to this big Halloween party that a big lifestyle group hosts every year. I checked my period app and of course, my cycle is supposed to start a day or 2 before the party. We are NOT playing on my period, so I’m wondering should we still go to the party as a way of networking and making future play partners? Or would it be weird to meet a couple we connect with and then tell them we can’t play because of the time of the month? :

      Thanks.

I have no idea where to place this question so I'm sure this thread will be appropriately moved by one of the moderators.

Anyway, I've heard of these Instead Softcups, DivaCups, etc. around the forum. I haven't tried it and I haven't seen them at the store. I decided to do some light researching tonight and even though I'd love to ditch the usual products and replace them with one of these cups, I am pretty squeamish. So, do any forum members use these regularly? Did you have a hard time adjusting to them? Did you try them and hate them? Do you only use them for swing events or the entire duration of The Monthly?

Ok all this is probably a very dumb question!

Jon and I are new to the whole on premise party thing. there is a party coming up next month that we need to rsvp and buy tickets for ahead of time. But there is one small problem. . I have sometimes irregular menstrual cycles and am not quite sure whether i might have my period or not. Should we just book our room and pay for the tickets and go anyway, even if I have my period? Ladies, what do you all do in situations like this? Do you even bother to attend a party where playing is a strong possibility when you have your period? Or do you jus stay home and not go at all? Or do you go and participate anyway? Or do you enjoy pleasing others without having intercourse?

What's the deal? I need some enlightenment please!
