Tybee Swing 286 Posted October 22, 2006 The poll about how we groom our privates got me to thinking about this. It seems pretty unanimous here that we groom ourselves in the nether regions, most of us pretty meticulously. Personally, I don't like photos of close-up body parts, but they're pervasive on the sites, anyway. There are times when we see some really hairy, completely ungroomed ones. I've seen women who don't even groom their upper thighs (bikini area), and have spread photos of this with black hair down their thighs. There are bend-over pictures of women with hair around the back door. There are bend-over pictures (action shot taken from behind) of men's balls with long hair on them. Like I said, we don't care for these kinds of photos anyway, but when they're very ungroomed, it's much more of a "yuck" factor. Are there people who have a preference for hairy? Maybe these hairy couples are showing this for the hair-seekers? Or, I have to wonder, do these very ungroomed people even realize that it probably looks yucky to most people to see all that hair? I really wonder this because they're using a primary photo that showcases their excess hair. Maybe they think that really looks hot to the general public? What do you think when you see photos in profiles of coochies and balls that are ungroomed? Quote Share this post Link to post
singleagain 26 Posted October 22, 2006 I never thought guys with long hair were well groomed...but then some people like it when guys have long hair. Yet I love it when women allow their "nether regions" to be "un-kempt" There is just something about being able to snuggle up to a downy haired pussy as it. I don't care much for the bare look...reminds me too much of what it might be like to be with a little girl. I'd never do that. The hair, for me, speaks of maturity and is very sexy...damn hot sexy if you want me to state the way I really feel about it! Quote Share this post Link to post
Sweet_Candy 54 Posted October 22, 2006 Will we have to go with the prefer some hair down there look on men/women too. Not into the pre-teen look. But our preference is no pics of gentalia at all. We love the surprise of not knowing. Quote Share this post Link to post
Darkblue 55 Posted October 22, 2006 We dont like to see lots of hair even more so if its unkept, its puts us off big style!! we are both shaved bare and thats the way we like to see on others, a bit of hair is ok but it must be well kept, neat and tidy... I really wonder this because they're using a primary photo that showcases their excess hair. Maybe they think that really looks hot to the general public? What do you think when you see photos in profiles of coochies and balls that are ungroomed? Chances are, they don't care what you think - love it or leave it. They are just showing what they look like. Some people aren't into crotch grooming. It's just hair, it's not digusting at all. An "eeeeew, that's yucky, what are those gross people thinking" attitude is far more off-putting than a bit of hair. Quote Share this post Link to post
Tybee Swing 286 Posted October 22, 2006 To clarify, I didn't say that the shaved smooth look is the only way, or the preferred way, or anything about people with a "bit" of hair looking yucky to me. I'm talking about women who don't groom at all, and if they wore a bathing suit in public, you would see black hair down their thighs and long hair poking out of the bathing suit bottom. And men with long, bushy hair down south. Not a "bit" of hair, but rather a lot. Quote Share this post Link to post
HappyPeople 17 Posted October 22, 2006 Like I said, it's just hair. Hair isn't disgusting to us in any amount. It doesn't impy that the person is unclean and it isn't horrible to touch or nuzzle in. Ungroomed hair is soft and pleasent to touch and hairy people are no more unclean than trimmed or shaved people. Some people are just hairier than others. For persons with thin body hair, trimming doesn't affect the feel of the hair as much as when persons with thick hair trim the hair. When a person is very hairy and they constantly cut and trim the hairs, the hair tips are blunt and scratchy - much more unpleasant to touch than one with natural hair. ShellyM 0 Posted October 22, 2006 Well, regarding myself I shave because Jay and our partner prefer women to be shaved. I probably would do trimmed, but don't really have an issue either way. I must say, shaved does feel cleaner, especially when my Aunt is visiting me. Anyways, regarding men. I answered this in another post, but I don't really care in the nether regions as long as its not excessive. I'm more interested in his total grooming ie. is he clean, does he smell good, dress nice, etc. I prefer that he keeps his hair neat and maintained, and if he wears a beard or goatee that it be nice and trimmed neatly. Other than that I really have no issues with hair. Quote Share this post Link to post
tribbles 490 Posted October 22, 2006 Hair has become a fetish but many of us still just let it grow and are natural. We really don't care if some thinks "yuck" cuz others don't. Others like it. And those others are the ones we want to get to know anyway. Quote Share this post Link to post
atlas 15 Posted October 22, 2006 I know the original poster wasn't posting about shaved in particular, but I'm shocked at how many people go bald downstairs. After shaving my armpits once(ONCE), I can't imagine translating that experience into the pubic or nether regions. I think it'd be a lot like heroin. You do it a couple times and the pain of going back would just be too much. You're stuck. Ms. Atlas has gone bare a couple times, but I don't know if I like it. It kinda looks too immature to me. She's not crazy about how everything sticks together, either. We keep things trim but don't pay much attention to the back door. We don't play there and grooming that would be asking too much. HappyPeople 17 Posted October 22, 2006 Shaved definately looks odd to us... In our opinion, it just isn't flattering - it either looks juvenile or less than flattering when spread eagle. Quote Share this post Link to post

I mark my razors and do it in the shower usually. When I get lazy and let it grow out I am always amazed though at how much hair is down there......damn, I was starting to think I was part werewolf! Chicup 41 Posted October 22, 2006 Mmmm I'd think shaving would be ubiquitous among most active swingers. Both of us are turned off by the big bush look, and we would look at it as how one cares about their general appearance. I'm going to guess that in the 40 and under crowd we will see mostly shaven or at least trimmed. At the very least its easier to keep clean, and while its not our motivation, it does make it harder to hide some STD’s which is an added benefit. The safety razor is perhaps the greatest invention ever. crazy kilt man agrees! Quote Share this post Link to post
TerryforSex 14 Posted October 22, 2006 Shaving I prefer. i like on myself the silky smooth feeling with a little baby oil. I am thinking about permanent removal all over between the legs and butt. My husband I like him trimmed. But once in a while I like him smooth. Quote Share this post Link to post

Lumina 16 Posted October 23, 2006 The safety razor is perhaps the greatest invention ever. crazy kilt man agrees! Crazy kilt man needs to get himself a nasty case of razor burn. He just might change his tune! For the OP, I'm equally ewwwed by crotch shots, groomed or not. I'm all for leaving some to the imagination. Generally, I don't care much how someone chooses to groom, as long as it's clean and not in my way. Though I will admit, seeing someone in a bathing suit with pubes sticking out is kinda yuck. It can provided you shave to close like that. On the other hand, you would have a clear view of any bumps and splotches, which I think is of greater benifit than the risk of damaged skin. funcpl4life 51 Posted October 23, 2006 We don't like crotch shots either. It's kind of like finding out what you're getting for Christmas early. It spoils the surprise. Mrs. FC4L waxes but leaves a triangle as neither of us are into the 8 year old look. I'm a pretty hairy guy and I trim. I try to integrate the whole look. Guys who shave their tackle box and leave this bare patch surrounded by tummy and thigh hair just look funny. (It's like their wearing furry, crotchless pantyhose.) havefuninsun 122 Posted October 23, 2006 I like myself smooth by waxing. It feels better to me, as it does Mr. Fun. I love the feeling of being "aware of down there," and when I'm too haired, the friction can be painful. And, I'm sorry, but I find it downright GROSS to be at a pool or beach and see some woman walking around with her hair coming out of her bathing suit ... and, women with hairy pits are a turn-off too. I know a lot of this is cultural differences (a lot of European women do not shave), but that doesn't mean I like it. (however, I'd rather see hairy pits than a bush fighting its way out of a bathing suit). Mr. Fun has been waxed down below; at the moment, he's closely trimmed all around ... short chest hair to go with the short neather-region hair. The cool thing about all of this is ... to each his own. What turns on one person isn't what turns on someone else ... Quote Share this post Link to post
looking2swing 17 Posted October 23, 2006 I am a big fan of just having a landing strip, but having a Brazilian wax is also nice. As far as the Mr. he is nicely manscaped. He has the right amount of hair and looks great. All that hair makes me think of a bad 70's porn movie. Quote Share this post Link to post
Greg & Sheryl 368 Posted October 23, 2006 Funny you should mention STDs. We feel that shaving increases the probablity of contracting an STD because it damages the skin.Interesting theory. Chicup 41 Posted October 23, 2006 Interesting theory. We don't have an opinion one way or the other, but we hear a lot of shaving proponents claim that excess hair can help retain STD bacteria in the pubic region. Back when I was doing herpes research there was a case where a couple had shaved each other and one of them had herpies. It made the intial infection spread out over the entire shaving area rather than just the genitals. Long term it didn't make a difference but it was unusual. While I don't have any facts to back it up, I could see how any broken skin could increase your risk. So far neither my wife or I have had any razor burn or other issues with shaving that caused this, but others are undoubtely not so lucky. On the flip side I can see the increased ability to do visual inspections at a glance a benifit to avoiding those with stds like HPV and herpes. I'm not sure the bacteria thing really matters as much hair or no hair, I'm sure its easier to keep clean without but those bacteria are not really an std problem. All that being said our reasons for shaving are purely cosmetic and neither of us like a mouthful of hair. In Mrs. Chicups case she was very reluctant to shave but after she did shes never gone back and shaves because SHE likes it not me. Quote Share this post Link to post
curiouscouple4f 17 Posted October 23, 2006 My husband and I prefer well groomed, I prefer hair on a man, but not wild and bushy, trimmed neatly is nice. Woman, as long as they are clean and the area neat and well trimmed I don't mind some hair. Cleanliness is the main issue... The Mrs. Quote Share this post Link to post
Amanda69 24 Posted October 24, 2006 I wonder how long this trend towards shaved pubic regions will last before we move back to the natural look. I don't have a preference though I keep myself closely trimmed. Quote Share this post Link to post
clecouple 18 Posted October 24, 2006 I always groom and shave my privates. I figured if my wife does it so that she is cleaner and more accessibale down there, I can do the same. It's much easider for her to lick my balls and really go down on me with no fear of having to pick through a mound of hair. I find it funny now when I see a guy in a locker room with a big bush around his cock and balls. Either he doesn't get much action or his wife/girfriend really doesn't mind, which I find hard to believe. My wife wasn't groomed when I first met her and I showed her a Playboy as a visual aid to show her what I meant to shave "down there". Now, every girl I dated before her didn't shave either. Once my wife shaved, it opened up a whole new experience for me! I couldn't wait to lick that nice smooth pussy! It made it easier to get to all her parts and she usually tasted and smelled better. I feel "us guys" can do the same for our girls. I usually put a little baby powder on my balls to make it smooth and so I don't get any irritation. Quote Share this post Link to post

clecouple 18 Posted October 24, 2006 Yeah, when my wife is totally trimmed, that looks a little odd. But when she leaves that little tuft of hair above her pussy it looks great and very sexy! facelick Quote Share this post Link to post

Now...if the skin is broken and open, then yes, it COULD increase the probability of contracting an STD. HOWEVER...if you give it a day or two and the skin has mostly healed over, the chances are no greater than if you had a big poofy bush and no razor cuts. I personally keep it nice and trimmed up. I'd be really annoyed with hair in my mouth, and I love oral sex too much to forego that. Most people that I've run into my age range (mid-20's) keep shaved or atleast trimmed. Age/trends probably do play a part in who shaves, but there will always be that camp of people that thinks its crazy...the way some thought bellbottoms were crazy... DGrey 28 Posted January 13, 2007 We prefer no crotch shots at all...we'd rather uncover that prize in real life. However, if we do see a crotch shot, we do prefer them to be well groomed. I was approving some pics last night on SLS and there were quite a few of a woman like Mrs. Tybee described. I wanted to hurl. It holds no appeal for me whatsoever. Cpl2share 147 Posted January 14, 2007 Mrs.CPL trims very close so that there are no hair balls. Something about hacking on a hair just kind of ruins the mood, and takes the tongue away from what is really important. Mr.Cpl has very tough skin and doesn't mind shaving so that is how he goes. Once again, no hair to hack up. He is very hairy, so it does provide some comic relief the first time that a woman sees it (Shaves the shaft, nound and balls) but that is also a good tension reliever especially when people are nervous about the first time with a couple. After the laughter dies down, the fun can begin with a smile. Works well if the man can laugh at himself. Quote Share this post Link to post
