Hapycmpr 16 Posted November 5, 2006 ...for those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who don't, no explanation is possible. --Mr. Alura The famous quote by Mr. Alura, and Pepper & Drew's Signature. I love it. Which brings up the question... How many of you ride motorcycles, and is it a part of your swinging lifestyle? Patti and I both ride. However, we haven't been able to find other motorcycle enthusiasts who swing. At least that we would want to party with. We have seen rides promoted on different swinger sites, and every time we've gone, there are a bunch of single guys, wanna be couples or just people that we wern't attracted to. We had fun riding, but did not care to hook up with anyone for what ever reason. We enjoy both swinging and motorcycle riding. It would be nice to be able to combine the two every once in awhile. There are swinger campgrounds, swinger boating clubs, swinger NASCAR groups, even swinger golf outtings. But I have never seen a swinger motorcycle touring group. But I'll keep looking. By the way, Mr. Alura....I've owned Harley's all of my adult life, and I never thought that feeling could be beaten. Then I got on a BMW. What a difference. Quote Share this post Link to post

How many of you ride motorcycles, and is it a part of your swinging lifestyle? Both Mark and I ride, I've actually had my motorcycle endorsement a lot longer than my husband, but he rides far more now. It hasn't been a part of our swinging lifestyle though, but that may change as we found out at our club's Halloween party that there is a large contingent of riders and they go out two Sundays a month during the spring/fall/summer. And a few of the women are like me - they ride their own bike. However, much to the dismay of many (not that they care too much), we do ride rice burners. Mark is hoping to have a Hayabusa by spring, and I'll have the 2001 Kawasaki ZR-7S to myself. Quote Share this post Link to post
ShellyM 0 Posted November 5, 2006 We don't ride motorcylces ourselves. However, my dad was a biker when I was growing up, and so bikers are like my family. I feel comfortable around them. These were hard core bikers who really lived the "lifestyle"...they just worked to get enough money to ride lol. To this day when I hear the Bob Segar song Roll me Away I think of my childhood. I would LOVE for Jay and I to own a Harley Davidson. Bikers were wonderful, kind hearted people that always had each other's back. Now you've gone and got me nostalgic lol. Hapycmpr 16 Posted November 5, 2006 However, much to the dismay of many (not that they care too much), we do ride rice burners. That's GREAT! As long as it has two (or even three) wheels, it's OK in my book! Quote Share this post Link to post
WesternSwing 504 Posted November 5, 2006 We also ride, and sportbikes, not Harleys. We have seen several groups with swingers that are Harley oriented and we don't seem to be well accepted by some in this group that feels that it is a Harley or nothing. It's sad, they can't seem to get over their own ego long enough to just enjoy riding. It's more a fashion show than a group ride. Most are not this way, but enough are to make it not an enjoyable time. Case in point, we went on the MDA ride from Salt Lake City to Wendover, NV in 2005 with another friend who rides a sportbike. It was a testosterone-fest and downright dangerous the way some of these folks were riding just to show-off. We turned around at the first gas stop and started home, the long way of course. We came across The Utah Burn (a regional Burning Man-like festival) and set-up camp. It was the best night with great people we'd had in a long time! For me, riding is as essential to my life as breathing. I spend more time on two wheels than on four. That said, though, we have several swinger friends that ride, all but one of them ride cruisers (mostly Harleys) and we fit with them really well. To them, what they are riding does not define who they are. Right now I'm in the market for a track bike, then a sport tourer. I love Beemers but that new Kawasaki Concours 14 is looking really good, and by the time it gets here I might be ready to buy one. In the meantime, we'd love to find more swinger/bikers, if not for swinging, just to be able to ride with people we don't have to watch what we say around. Mr. WS Quote Share this post Link to post

Mr. WS I don't think they have big egos per se. From my personal experience the Harley is such a part of their identity that its hard for them to know anything else. Like I said in my last post, these weren't people that rode around with all "Harley Davidson" stuff on, shirts and hats and stuff, like a promo for Harley. These are guys that ride their bikes in the cold and rain and stuff lol. They look unfriendly, but they aren't. I can't describe it other than they are a very close knit society. They really aren't rude people I think, they are just set in their ways. But yeah, the Japanese bikes are awesome too! Quote Share this post Link to post

But yeah, the Japanese bikes are awesome too! We're talking about two different kinds of bikers here, the one-percenters and RUB's (Rich Urban Bikers) who pretend to be one-percenters on the weekends. Some of these are the ones that make it a fashion show. I've never really had a problem with one-percenters because although Harleys are now associated with "bikers" in the beginning choppers were made from Nortons, BSA's, and Triumphs, with a few Harleys here and there. To them it truly is "Live to ride, ride to live". It doesn't matter what you ride so much as you do. The group I ride with is a mixed group, two Harleys (husband and wife), a Yamaha Warrior, a Kawasaki Mean Streak, two Yamaha R1's, a BMW R1150GS, a Ducati 900SS, and several others. So you see, I am not "anti-Harley". Mr. WS Quote Share this post Link to post

Brian&Mandy 15 Posted November 5, 2006 Add another couple who ride... though we're more of a "pretty much anything but a Harley" people, for one reason only.. can't afford the bloody things. You could say we're Cheap riders, most of the bikes I/we've owned were bought for under $1000 (hey, it's what's affordable ~ we don't finance toys). Anyway, I've been a rider since before my wife got her Drivers license and managed to give her the courage/encouragement and direction to get her endorsement about 6 years ago. I even went for 8 years where a motorcycle was my only means of transportation (an '87 Honda VFR700), took it from 12k miles to 107k miles in that time. I've roadraced and am even a factory certified mechanic for HD, Suzuki and Yamaha. If only swinging were as easy as any/everything motorcycles are for me. And there's only 1 real 'break' I see with motorcycle riders.. you have the Riders ~ who are out there for show, to try and project an image, like to bash everyone other than people on the same bike/style as themselves, and turn Maybe a tousand or two miles a year ~ and you have the Motorcyclists, who don't care WHAT bike you're on, just that you are on a bike. They ride in all kinds of weather, try to find the common ground with other rides and tend not to bash people. The Riders I can do without, the Motorcyclists are the people I activly seek to share my time with. Brian Quote Share this post Link to post

Exactly what I was refering to when I said we met couples we had no desire to hook up with at a couple of rides. Nuff said. I spend more time on two wheels than on four. Lucky Bugger! ...what they are riding does not define who they are. True. Who I am defines what I ride. I like all bikes. Two or three wheels, they're all great. But we like to tour...to put on 600 miles in a day is commonplace. Patti is a member of the International Iron Butt Association (in more ways than one!) But after a long day of riding, we like to have enough energy left for some fun. Besides, I'm too old to be beat up on a bike that "looks cool." I love Beemers... Shamless Plug for BMW's! ...but that new Kawasaki Concours 14 is looking really good... I was thinking the same thing... In the meantime, we'd love to find more swinger/bikers, if not for swinging, just to be able to ride with people we don't have to watch what we say around. Alura 2,773 Posted November 5, 2006 For about fifteen years, I made my living in the motorcycle industry (Manufacturers' Rep) and rode BMWs to call on my customers five days a week. Used to be a Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor. Then came our older son and I lost interest, not in motorcycles, in travel. Got into old Porsches to salve the mechanical urge. I still own an old Norton and a Triumph but neither has run in twenty-five years. We recently bought my son his first bike, a wrecked 1981 Kawasaki 250CSR wtih 1,800 miles on it. We spent a day digging through the bins at a local motorcycle salvage and bought a few new parts. We painted it 1982 Porsche Silver/Blue to match his car. Presto, instant as-new motorcycle for $400. We should have a Swingers Board Meet Up! (See the Meet Up! Forum.) somewhere in easy riding distance from Sturgis next year. Is there a couple from the area who would like to plan and host it? I'll help! Mr. Alura Quote Share this post Link to post
KajiKurai 15 Posted November 5, 2006 Add another couple. We both ride. Have several bikes between us. Couple of sportier bikes, a UJM, and a track bike. We like all kinds of bikes and don't care what you ride. It's the fact that you ride and are a level-headed rider that's more important. Surprisingly, some of the bike boards I'm on, swinging gets discussed now and again. Maybe riders are just a bit more adventurous than most. Quote Share this post Link to post
SouthBond 18 Posted November 5, 2006 We go to Sturgis every year. We stay at Spearfish at a private home. There are thousands of beautiful bikes and babes. Be sure and bring a sign that says "Show Me Your Tits" and you will be entertained. Really a great bunch of people. If your lady likes to strip, she can enter the Ms. Buffalo Chip contest. You have everything from the real biker gang types to the family that is just looking. The police keep a tight reign on the proceedings but that is good. The campgrounds are a little more relaxed and nudity in moderation is accepted. Behind closed doors just about everything goes. The women tend to turn it loose in that atmosphere. My wife has a leather outfit that basically covers nothing that she wears on the parade through town. Once upon a time only Harley bikes were allowed. Now you see all brands of bikes but mainly Harleys. And if you want to be accepted, a Harley helps. Quote Share this post Link to post
billygoat4u 15 Posted November 5, 2006 We're biker/swingers... We co-own a yahoo group for biker/swingers in the north east. Hold a number of rides ending with swing parties afterwards.. LOVE it............. Quote Share this post Link to post
fifty4x2 15 Posted November 5, 2006 Add another couple who rides. We met back in 69 when I had first Harley. We have ridden throughout Europe and the US and met many Lifestyle couples. They are reserved at first but once the party starts, well take it from there. We would like to invite all you Lifestyle bikers to The Rough Rider Motorcycle Rally. The event takes place the last weekend of July 2007. Hope to swing you there. Quote Share this post Link to post
MrXxotic 18 Posted November 6, 2006 We ride also. I have a Harley FXDX and she rides a Yamaha 650. We have met two lifestyle couples that also ride and have used it as a way to get together. Something more fun than the average meet and greet. I don't know of any biker/swinger groups in Atlanta but I'm sure they exist and would love to find one. Quote Share this post Link to post

havefuninsun 122 Posted November 7, 2006 We ride a Dynaglide Harley. We are not biker types, but types that like to ride. I do all the riding; Mr. Fun does all the drivin'. We've met one couple that also ride, but have never ridden with them ... we've been chatting with a couple who both the husband and wife both own bikes, and we've got some adventures in our future hopefully!! Because we don't like labels, we dont say we're in "the lifestyle" or we're "lifestylers" or "bikers." We're two people who enjoy both getting our grooves on with others (we're a sharing couple, that way -- LOL) as well as take a bike ride every now and again. Quote Share this post Link to post
2wheelswingers 15 Posted November 14, 2006 what a great post! we as a couple do ride (Harley Davidson)and are active in the lifestyle,we are also group webmasters of our own group on a site called swapper net,we have currently have 93 members, called "Motorcycle Swingers Group" and as a group we are pretty active on fun weather it be just going for a group ride or getting together as a group for a house party, not everyone in our group plays with all the couples but the option is there if thats what you want to do,we do not discriminate on the kind of bike you have or your looks,as a matter of fact you dont even have to have a bike! just like the biker lifestyle ,having fun is what we are all about so we do encourage people in the lifestyle that ride to maybe start your own groupand start having some double the fun in both lifestyles as we do ride safe Biker G & Linda...P.S.if your cuming to Bikeweek in march look us up we live 90 miles from Daytona Quote Share this post Link to post
Tybee Swing 286 Posted November 14, 2006 --How many of you ride motorcycles, and is it a part of your swinging lifestyle? We ride a Honda Shadow (pic attached). We are members of a local regular riding club (all kinds of bikes, Harleys and others), but seldom have the time to ride with the group. We like to go on charity poker runs and such. It's fun, but we haven't met any swingers through riding, yet. We do meet swingers who ride, though! Patti and I both ride. However, we haven't been able to find other motorcycle enthusiasts who swing. At least that we would want to party with. ... We enjoy both swinging and motorcycle riding. It would be nice to be able to combine the two every once in awhile. Do you include a picture of your bike(s) in your adult profiles? You'd be amazed how many other swinger/riders that draws to you. Many people just enjoy riding and aren't in any organized riding clubs. We get lots of swingers/riders who write to us. A fun date with another couple is to meet for lunch on a nice weekend day, and then ride together. Quote Share this post Link to post

HAHA,i got a good laugh from that one but it is very truthfull, the sad part is that 99% of HD owners who act like that are newbies to riding(unless their 1%ers) & the harley that their so proud of is their first full size bike & most couldnt even tune their own bikes up. We have owned & rode HD'S our entire adult lives & neither of us could care less what the other guys riding, we care more about how others act when their along side of us over what their scooter is. Our bikes are a 1970 shovelhead hardtail custom build,1974 sportster chopper,1996 fatboy,2,000 road king. Quote Share this post Link to post
Guest MrsVan Posted November 15, 2006 Both Mark and I ride, I've actually had my motorcycle endorsement a lot longer than my husband, but he rides far more now. I have been looking for someone to teach me how to drive a motorcyle, now that I know that you have an endorsement RPU3, think you could teach MrVan and I? I LOVE motorcyles and use to ride with my ex husband and keep telling MrVan one of these days I will own my own Harley and will be riding it whether he has his own or not. There is just something about being on a Harley that is so exciting. I actually use to have my own set of chaps (but of course I love leather too ) but made the stupid mistake of leaving them behind when I got divorced. I kick myself in the butt everyday. Anytime, MrsVan. Whatever it takes to get more women endorsed! Riding is a lot of fun. Come some Sunday in the springtime, its all of us, an empty parking lot, and the smaller bike for you to give it a try. At the bare minimum, you may find you hate it, or you may find you love it and want to take a pro course, or that that "trial" was enough for you two to get a bike and practice for the endorsement. captainbob 30 Posted November 16, 2006 My sweetie and I ride. She has an '87 Harley Custom Heritage Softtail and I have 3 classic Honda GoldWings ('75,'76 & '78). She doesn't let me ride her bike, but she's ridden mine on a 5-day trip to North Carolina and loved it. I just think it would be cool to meet other couples to go on trips with to share two interests at once. We spend alot of holiday time riding and it takes away from the time we have to meet other couples for sex. We'd like to "kill two birds", if you know what I mean. Quote Share this post Link to post
