In a perfect world this would be ideal. But how can you be certain that everybody is std free? In a group of ten couples I would think that somebody at sometime would have unprotected sex with somebody outside the group. We have a doctor in our group who does tests on everyone at very low cost, we all get tested monthly. Also, if anyone in the group was ever under suspicion of breaking the rules they would be thrown out at once. Yes, bareback just means no condoms, not no birth control at all. It was originally a term used in the gay male community to denote anal sex without condoms.

 

Women also have the choice of getting their tubes tied (tubal ligation surgery) or using an IUD.

 

I have my tubes tied and my husband has a vasectomy, but we still use condoms to reduce the risk of STD's. Getting HIV or Hepatitis C is not worth the risk to us and condoms are quite effective for those diseases.
