I am curious as to the age groups of the members on this board by percentages.

You may only choose one option in the poll. The first four choices are what you and your other are (if a couple). As some may have vast differences in age, (as we do) there are three catagories for that. For instance we would vote in the catagory of "40 and Up" since we don't fit into the 10 year mold.

If you and your significant other are less than 10 years apart but say are 26 and 34, half the difference in age between the two of you and vote in the closest catagory. (In this case it would be the 30-40 age group).

If you consider yourself "other", please explain.

Lori,

Darn, I'm up to the next catagory again or is it down to the next.

We are...me 41..John 42

So are we getting the short end of the deal....higher side of middle age? I mean at 55, you can start getting things as you can be considered a senior citizen.

Oh well, bring on my older years,

Rhonda

AARP is more generous than most, they let you enroll at the age of 50.

Don't worry Rhonda and John, you've only just begun to live!

Speaking of middle age... I just found out that I am considered middle aged about a month ago. I was shocked... I thought middle age was 50. Ya know, a half a century....blah, blah, blah.

I can't remember where but I read it somewhere and I had to ask Gene just to be sure. (Of course I quizzed him so as not to allow him to show favoritism on my behalf.) He confirmed the truth and then let me sulk for a while.

Anyway, welcome to middle age. I suppose now we are just sexy seniors.

Lori,

You pave the ground for me.....So won't be so hard when I get told I'm a senior citizen...:fun: Wait....AARP, discounts...Oh well, bring it on...John loves coffee so we can get a discount at Mickie Ds.

Only problem with us is...eveything we use..gets discontinued when we go to use it....Think this will happen too.

Oh well....I'm right there with you.. you are as young as you feel.

Turning 30 was great for me...everything just seemed to come together and I felt I finally had the big clue that I'd been missing all my life that I thought I was an adult.

Turning 40.....now that wasn't fun. I still cry about it three years later.

I'm not even thinking about 50....but Jim is cause he's kicking it in the ass!!

She is 49 and he is 54. We are empty nesters now that the kids are grown, and we love every minute of it. We have been on this "lifestyle" adventure for less than two years, and look forward to every new experience.

Thought I would bump this back up as we have quite a few new members on the board. I find it interesting to see what age groups we have reading and participating on the board.

Turning 30 was not a happy birthday for me. I, quite frankly, acted like a child. I was quite pissy and snappy.

This is probably because Logan's Run is one of my favorite movies.

I've had problems with the last two birthdays with a zero in them. Losing teen status as I turned 20 was a trauma rather than a triumph, and leaving my twenties behind for 30 was no better. Actually, it was a lot worse. 40 is a few years off yet, but I have little in the way of optimism that it will be any different.

I'm with Woody Allen on this one: I want to achieve immortality through never dying.

Bumping this poll back up since we have a lot of discussion here of late about age differences.

So, what age group are you in?

We are in the 20 - 30 year range.

I (tigress) am going to be 29 in September and the MR. is gonna be 27 in July.

I am actually looking forward to my thirties. I've heard a majority of good things about the thirties. My twenties have been the most tumultous of my life and wouldn't want to live them over again for anything in the world!!

Love

Which category do we mark off if we're both 30? (20-30, or 30-40?)

We were high school sweethearts, (same grade), so no age difference here.

Just babies!!! I had to hit 40 before I became comfortable enough in my own skin to start to explore. I hated turning 30; 40 was a time for change! I'm 46, S is 54 but we have kids still at home since I was a late bloomer. In other words, I was 36 when I had my last.

Sue and I played in the swing world in the 20-30 age category and then stopped to raise our family. Actually, we wouldn't have stopped completely but at the same time aids was a real scare so we took the two negatives and stopped playing with others.

Now that the kids are almost out of the house and since aids appears to be more manageable, we are ready to explore again.

But AARP-- I hope everyone burns their AARP cards. AARP is now a business rather than the association for retired people.

We just received our renewal along with new cards. We sent it back to them with a full explanation of why we would not be renewing. (AAA usually offers a better discount anyway and they'll plan your trips and tow your car, too.)

That "something or other Maturity" catelogue they send you that's just chock full of snappy products for the decrepit adds a thrill to your day when it arrives.

Additionally, a puny 10% discount is a sorry damned compensation for turning 50!

I wish ears full of hair, knees that make noise and placebo blue pills to those at the helm of AARP. head bang

Sadly enough age can be a very cruel thing. It wasn't until today that I noticed on the main page header Slyoldguy was noticed lurking :o) :o) :o) That is true so we are guilty as charged. Anyway the time has come for us to hang up our keys so to speak, the party is over. We had our fun years ago, all that remains is our memories. I do envy each and every one of you enjoying life to the fullest. We did our thing for two years with close friends but that was years ago. Sooooo here I am enjoying all you great people posting your problems and advice.

In a post on another thread I encouraged my Mrs that we weren't too old to explore the Lifestyle. Well today I was at the supermarket picking up a couple of things. The cashier rang up the couple of items and handed me the receipt. On the way out the door I noticed I was given a small discount - it was a Seniors Discount. Christ, talk about being depressed all day.

WOW, the majority of posts on here are from the youngins...LOL!! I never even knew or even thought of "swinging" in my 20's or 30's, thought about it in my 40's but wasn't with a willing partner and now that I am well into my 50's (Mike is 55), I am having the time of my life, wish I had started the lifestyle when I was younger though...!!

We're in our early 20's (me 22 and Rob 23) and tend to look for people a similar age. We've been swinging for over 3 years now and found ourselves usually the youngest when we started out.

I am at the mature end of the swinging demographic as are my play friends. The ladies have their share of curves and character lines and often prefer to wear something when younger, fitter ladies prefer total nudity. This is just to say clothing is totally OK if it makes you comfortable. This is not a photo shoot. This is intimacy and mutual giving. Besides, a little color and texture is nice to see and feel. When I know my partner is shy I can adjust and just observe that as a boundary.

      When will you stop swinging?

I see lots of swingers well into their sixties but I'm not so sure that I want to swing that long. I wonder when people stop swinging due to age is it because they are having physical difficulties or do they just start to feel too unattractive? Do we have anyone in their sixties or seventies on this board that can provide first-hand impressions?
    • By MacsMan
We’ve been out of swinging for some years now and wondered whether there is a place for 70 years old swingers? I do don’t mind if it’s just the wife who has the action although obviously I too would love to play again.

This is for older couples primarily, but could apply to any group. The question boils down to, as you get older does sex become a little less fun or does sex with the same loving person, become a little less exciting? Does life become simply routine or is the sex drive simply not demanding as much attention? Or do couples simply get bored with each other? Guess i'm wondering how to raise the heat level in an otherwise great relationship
