ownerspet 506 Posted August 1, 2008 When we're browsing through profiles, I see profiles with only one particular type of picture over and over or just one picture that gives me no clue of what someone looks like. I understand everyone wants to be discreet. However, I have to get an idea of what the total package is like, not just an ass. Don't get me wrong I like a nice ass, but I have to be attracted to the entire package. And, the latest one I found was a chin, with a neck, and the very top of a woman's chest. What pictures have you seen that were annoying on a profile? Quote Share this post Link to post
VegasLee 1,486 Posted August 1, 2008 We have been thinking of printing out a bunch of dick and close up pussy pictures and putting them on our bulletin board at the club with the caption, "Is This You?" All the close up shot does is make the person look like that part. You post a close up dick pic, oh well. Quote Share this post Link to post
JustAskJulie 2,595 Posted August 1, 2008 My favorite today was a pic that showed nothing but a single breast with a VERY large nipple. Quote Share this post Link to post
cocpl2007 170 Posted August 1, 2008 After having our kids hit us with our ad, we decided that pictures were just a bit too far, for a couple that appreciates discretion. So we often think what it must be like for the genital shots to show up in the Board (Corporate not Dart!) room or on the coffee table for a conversation with the kids! While we both appreciate and enjoy porn, having genital shots in a profile that professes to require discretion is a bit of an oxymoron. How many people actually appreciate the crotch shots? Quote Share this post Link to post
good times 991 Posted August 1, 2008 My favorite today was a pic that showed nothing but a single breast with a VERY large nipple. OK, I admit it, that would probably work for me. I'll have to admit though, the one that annoys me the most is all the bent over ass pictures. I like a nice ass, but frankly, most of the ass pics I see on profiles are not all that nice. Quote Share this post Link to post
sexcupid 809 Posted August 1, 2008 cocpl2007 I think the notion of discretion is that there are often times no face pictures posted on ads. So a boob or dick shot in many instances is much more discreet (because seriously, how many people can id a person by those things without already knowing them? lol ) than posting their face. The 'down on all fours' shot is a bit of a peeve of mine...a variation is the just bent at the waist where the panties ride up into the crack...there are ways to do discreet shots without showing your face and not just seeing asses. lol Quote Share this post Link to post
realcplub2 513 Posted August 1, 2008 Since we started, when people would contact us and want to "swap pics" we ran into everything everyone else has.. so we came up with a few simple things we write.. and in fact have it on a few of our profiles.. Close ups of cocks and other body parts are fine, but they do nothing to help us find you in a public setting, unless you plan on walking around with it hanging out.. Where we lived when we started there were no clubs, so everything was done privately, and we often met at a restuarant, or hell outside a pub at the mall.. Nothing like playing Whos Who, when all you have are GROIN SHOTS.. Quote Share this post Link to post
sweet_tna 680 Posted August 1, 2008 Okay, I confess to being one of those folks with an ass shot in my profile. BUT (pun intended) my ass is covered and it's not the only pic. It's the same pic as my avatar here. The rest are PG rated full body shots of just me or both of us. I try really hard to get creative about obscuring faces (necessary for Mr. Sweet's job). The only other pic that's not full body is of my legs. As for crotch shots, we don't have any of those even in our private pics. I figure anyone we're actually interested in playing with will get to see that in person if all goes well. And yes, those pics bug me, too. =) Quote Share this post Link to post
BiloxiCouple 695 Posted August 1, 2008 With a little prior planning you can do a full body shot while still being discreet without having to zoom in on that particular body part. Quote Share this post Link to post
Chicup 41 Posted August 1, 2008 Wedding pictures (much more common before everyone switched to digital cameras). ANY genitalia shots. I have no idea what those are suppose to do for me. I suppose for females it can help show penis size, but I am assuming you have the parts, I've seen more than my share of them, I don't need to see yours up close in poor lighting. I've never been in a situation where I found a woman physically attractive to have sex with them and then said 'oh wait, look at that vagina, no sorry I can't do this'. Party shots. Ok so you have these friends at a party, maybe a swingers party, great, which one is you? LL was big on this, sometimes you would have to figure out who was the one person in all the party shots to figure out who's profile it was. Clutter in the shot. Yes you took this picture of you trying to look all sexy. Perhaps you shouldn't have done so with the dirty plates on the table and laundry all over the floor. Maybe that sink of dirty dishes wasn't the best backdrop. Web cam shots. No one looks good in the glow of a monitor, and even less so in a fuzzy low res picture. The obvious 'old' picture. Sometimes you can just tell by looking at a picture its old. I'm not even sure how I know, but I do. Sometimes its obviously old because is scanned, but I think also just the subtle changes in hairstyles and clothes can date it even if you can't describe why that picture looks so 1996. Using outdated pictures are no different than lying in your profile. Just don't do it, I'm almost 40 now, I don't show pictures we used when I was 30 and just started to swing, hell we don't use last years. These are all pictures I've commonly seen, there are other gems like having children in them, but luckily those are far rarer. Quote Share this post Link to post
two42lovers 273 Posted August 1, 2008 I see profiles with only one particular type of picture over and over or just one picture that gives me no clue of what someone looks like. Yeah, that's definately a big red flag. If there are no full length pics, we figure they are hiding something. If the only pics are close ups of their face, it's a bad sign. On the other side of the coin, the pics we WANT to see are shots of them playing with other people. Are they a couple? Do they really play? Play pics are worth a thousand words. As for "cock shots", a lot of women we know like seeing them as part of the mix. (Play pics of oral sex work pretty good.) A lot of women like to see a "no shirt" 3/4 length shot of the guys, too. Wedding Pictures - my current avatar here is from one of our wedding photos ...... A couple of months ago we had a couple that felt the need to email us their pictures (I wish people would get the hang of the private pictures feature on SLS - I've started sending out complete directions for how to use it), anyway the picture they sent us was of the wife with their kid... then a seperate picture of the husband by himself. Um, no thanks. Quote Share this post Link to post

I cant agree more, a while back we passed on a couple that lived close to us due to the Katrina-esque disaster in the backdrop of their photos. Also, lack of decorating taste; photos taken underneath full length, unframed, crooked, "Star Wars:Attack of the Clones" door posters. Yoda is not sexy, and due to the angle he seems to be perving in the photo. Mr Oly Quote Share this post Link to post
Chicup 41 Posted August 2, 2008 Wedding Pictures - my current avatar here is from one of our wedding photos ...... But yours is the cutesly wedding photo, I'm talking about that hand in hand posed shot at the church that almost everyone has for the cover of their album. I've had to have seen that a dozen times as the main 'swinger' photo. Its even better when it says they have been married 10 years in the profile. Now I suppose if the whole 'are they really' married was a question, that could answer it, but I don't think thats why people use those pictures. Quote Share this post Link to post
JustMrJ 178 Posted August 2, 2008 Some of the cell phone shots are so pixelated that it's hard to tell where the person is or what gender they are. I viewed a new profile this last week that was like this. Only one shot barely let the woman's true shape show. She was hot from what I could tell, but the rest of the photos were just useless and none of the man. I don't care if he's a voyeur or not. There should be one shot of him. *Sigh* And, yes, I agree... the close-up body part shots are completely useless for me and the Mrs. Quote Share this post Link to post

MrkLin 393 Posted November 24, 2008 There's one profile here locally that uses scanned Polaroids. Do they even make Polaroid film anymore? These pictures were all G-rated shots, couldn't somebody have helped them to at least crop the pictures to get rid of that 1 inch white border around the pictures? And yes - please keep the pictures current. Your high school yearbook pic is a bit out dated... Quote Share this post Link to post

NotSorry 155 Posted November 25, 2008 Wedding pictures I actually really like a nice wedding shot. I like to think that the inclusion of it says something about their commitment to each other. It's best if there are other more current photos as well. I will pass by butts and closeups of genitals every time. And there are so many! The bending over shots have got to be the most distasteful for me. Quote Share this post Link to post

Malachista 170 Posted December 17, 2008 I found a new pet peeve: Fake Tattoos There seem to be more and more profiles where there is an asortment of pics, then there is a series of pictures that all seem to show off a provocative placed tattoo, and when the same person puts up another series of pictures the tattoo is gone again.... NCfuncouple98 367 Posted December 17, 2008 What annoys me the most is the lack of concern or attention to detail in profile pictures. Examples: Extremely messy bedroom around them, or in the living room with the playstation on the floor with the tv still on. Blurry pictures are the worst. I feel if they truly are swingers, they would want to put up their best pics. If they don't have enough self-respect to take the time and make their profile pics great, I wouldn't bother contacting them. Seems awfully flaky and irresponsible. Quote Share this post Link to post
PB&J 1,086 Posted December 19, 2008 The bending over shots have got to be the most distasteful for me. Amen. Nothing more off-putting than the sight of an ass sticking out of a hot-tub. As if an isolated body part is supposed to turn us on. Oh wait, I forgot about the xtreme close-ups of an erect male member. Oh wait and then there's her legs spread wide for all to see... at least it gives us a quick way to weed out the dross!! Quote Share this post Link to post
The Fuse 1,012 Posted December 20, 2008 I don't know if this has been covered before, but... one of the annoying types of pictures I've seen more of lately is the type where the man is trying to hide his physique behind his hot wife. You know the pose: she's out front, looking good. He's a turned a little to the side, and partially behind her, so you can't tell he has a 7-month beer belly. Hey dude, I might like you with that belly, but I won't like you if you try to hide it. Quote Share this post Link to post

The same common denominators I just listed, so don't worry about passing my picture-less profile up, I probably have you blocked anyway. And I could care less that you passed me by. Why so hostile? I just looked at your SLS profile, and found that you have 1 PG-Rated picture of the lady there. Then I read what you were looking for, and I think the picture is perfect for your profile. What I'm saying is your profile is exactly what my opinion of a profile should be in regards to pics. She can't be identified, yet there is enough there to give someone a glimpse into what she looks like. I'm willing to bet that if you were to make that 1 picture private, along with your other private pic, the number of 1st time e-mails you receive would drop. We can say what we want about getting to know people, and looks matter less than personality - but in the real world, everyone reading this knows that without at least some physical attraction, you'll never get any further than that. More couples than you think are less likely to try to get to know someone if they aren't physically attracted to someone - or in this case, have no way of knowing whether or not they are attracted. This is especially true online, where anyone with a PC can be anything they want you to think they are. I can easily put in my profile that I'm 28, 6'2", and 190 lbs, have a 12" dick, a dozen roses, and a pick-up truck (Rodney Carrington fans will get that one) - I'm not, but you don't know that. (Well, ok - I do have the truck... ) Again, please understand that I'm not talking about trying to get someone to open up their private pictures. Most of us have private pictures, and our reasons for opening them or not are numerous. All I'm saying is that at least 1 photo giving prospective playmates a little idea as to who they're looking at would be nice. And for the record, we don't block people because they don't have pictures that we can see. The only people we block are stalkers and asses. I just checked, and we have 6 people blocked - not a lot considering we've been on that site for 4 years. Quote Share this post Link to post
shy_couple 459 Posted December 20, 2008 some thoughts of ours, I agree that wedding photos are in poor taste. I saw a recent ad on SLS where the "flyover" default pic was a close up of her with her eyes closed and cum on her face. Anything too graphic is usually a sign that these probably arent someone that we want to meet. A big pet peeve is when there isnt a pic of both halves of the couple. We like sexy women but we dont like creepy men. We are professionals with a family so discretion is a high priority. We took some nice pics of her in our bedroom in some sexy lingerie with full coverage and either shot from the chin down or face turned away from the camera and hair partially covering her face. We also took a few couple pics of us together (fully clothed) up against a blank wall in our house (no personal pics/clutter) one from the bust up and the other a full length shot of us together to show our body type. On our SLS ad we blacked out part of our face (eyes) but use the original in our private pics to open for contacts that we feel may be real potential playmates. Quote Share this post Link to post
newadventres 6 Posted December 20, 2008 AHHHHH you have met my sarcastic sense of humor! Not being hostile just playing a little alter ego, maybe a little devils advocate. Problem with blogs are sooner or later everyone starts to provide their opinion by belittling those who they don't agree with. I just turned the tables some hoping others would look at themselves before making an issue out of something they really have no reason to. In other words if someone bypasses profiles because there are no pictures in it---------------more power to them. But why spout off about it. Did anyone want to hear my largest portion of any swinger site data base is my "block" list? No!---- and no one would know any better unless I mentioned it. Quote Share this post Link to post
Pensacolapair 394 Posted December 21, 2008 Yes, I did get the sarcasm...and I do understand your point. But allow me to point out an angle that you may not have considered. One of the purposes of a message board on a Swing Site is to provide a place to obtain information...especially for those just starting out. What better information on the Lifestyle than reading those a bit more experienced basically saying, "In this situation, this is how I see it and this is is how I deal with it"? Personally, when I cite an example of how I deal with something, I really don't care if it changes anyone's mind/behavior or not...I'm just presenting a point of view that can be considered along with all of the other ones out there. There are many methods that I understand the reasoning behind and accept as being equally (and sometimes, even more) effective than mine - but I just don't choose to use them. But some of the ones I do use were derived from having access to other people sharing their thoughts on things I was at a dead-end on. Now, were those thoughts and opinions sometimes expressed abrasively? Crudely? You betcha...many people consider tact and honesty to be mutually exclusive concepts. But the point is that the information was still there to be perused. An example: Suppose a new couple without any picture viewable had been on an ad site for a few months with very little interest or responses to their emails and were beginning to wonder why. Let's also say that it was a site that gave them the number of people who had viewed their profile.. and they thought it was lower than it should be. Isn't it possible that if they read several posts where members were saying that they simply don't read or respond to profiles without some type of picture.. a light might go on? Does it mean that they have to give in and post a picture? Nope - but at least it does shed a bit of light on it for them and help towards forming other solutions. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
newadventres 6 Posted December 21, 2008 Oh I understand the objective and have looked at all the angles, like I said I was throwing a little Devils advocate in there. And again I'l point out the blogs/forums become a clique with those who think they are defacto owners of them. They usually chase away the newbies that come looking for advice with their overbearng opinions presented in overbearing ways. I point out the topic here and that instead of pondering why some people don't put up pics the norm has been to slander them instead. The majority of responses are attempting to belittle those who don't show pics and numerous comments that "they" pass by profiles without pics. I myself and my wife pass by any profile that has more than 25 pics and we laugh at the ones with 100 or more. Figure we wouldn't get a word in edge wise as they were talk about themselves. Now I'm going to drain the swamp. Quote Share this post Link to post

We were talking about what we like and dont like to see and you took it as a personal attack and attacked back. Everyone has theiir preferences and knows what works for them. Some are a little more hard core than others. We are a suburban middle age caucasion couple with careers and a family and are new to this scene. We have pics listed but no face pics until we have chatted a bit and figure if we want to know you better. We also know that like you, too many or too graphic pics are a turn off. We all have a system/approach that we like and works for us and we have our reasons for this. We were tring to discuss some of our likes and dislikes and it turned into a snipe-fest. I've seen this now close to a dozen times in the past weeks.. It seems like body paint in pictures is sometimes mistaken as a tattoo. As the mrs had a dragon painted accross her breasts at a party/social, where a body painter was brought in. Since she put the picture on our profile, a couple of people that have met us after seeing the profile picture have asked about the tattoo across her breasts. Which we responded that it was body paint, and we just thought it was a cool picture. No one was upset or anything. Quote Share this post Link to post

ownerspet 506 Posted December 22, 2008 I noticed that those who want to see pics all have a few of the same denominators: All so busy they don't have time to get to know you. **************** I definitly understand this, as it seems we see way too many profiles that tell you up front that "our life is so busy", that it makes you think why should we bother. Then they want to make you feel guilty by letting you know that if you don't have pics they will pass you by****************like everyone on these sites are looking for them to seek them out anyway gheeeezzzz!!!!! I don't really think anyone is trying to make someone feel guilty over not having pics, as much as people are trying to discourage people from contacting them without pics. This is because: While most swingers want to get to know someone & have some sort of chemistry, most swingers/people have to have some sort of physical attraction to potential playmates. As a result of the need for physical attraction, it is easier to avoid potential playmates that they are not physically attracted to. Then this narrows the group significantly for most, and from there they can decide who they want to check for chemistry by getting to know them a little better. As a result of the paragraph above, I beleive most people want to see pics on profiles before they bother putting forth effort in getting to know profile owners. Although many times the perception of someone's attractiveness changes (in one direction or the other) upon meeting someone. As lifetime members of SLS, we get to pre-approve pictures before they appear in profiles. There have been times when I've had to take a step back from the computer and study a picture to try to figure out what the heck I'm looking at. The picture looks just fine as a thumbnail, but even in SLS' picture viewer, it's so pixelized, you can't really tell what you're looking at. You can get a really good quality digital camera that will take an 800 X 600 picture for around $50 or less. Please don't try to force a 100 X 80 picture to an 800 X 600 resolution by enlarging it. It really looks rotten. Quote Share this post Link to post
newadventres 6 Posted December 22, 2008 Well I'll try to answer a few responses here. As I said from the beginning, I was throwing out thoughts as an alter ego and as devils advocate. Why because as I mentioned, too many people on these blogs become defacto owners of the blogs and "do not" discuss likes and dislikes of others in a civil manner. I could have used this subject or any other subject on here. We are not insulted by this topic as someone mentioned. We do have pics on our profile and yes We even pass by profiles without pics, that is if the profile indicates there aren't even any private pics. I intentionally left out smileys in my posts where (joke alerts) should have been. I did this to get back to my original idea which is, people on blogs do not just post their opinions, they (some) always have to say something ignorant towards the other people who's opinions are different. There are to many times when an individuals "preference" doesn't meet the other persons and soon look out the clique (which does exist, even here) will beat them to death I don't agree with having no pics and I question if a million pics are needed but I'm not going to get down on either person for what they choose in their profile. I guess my point is use a little respect for the others even if you disagree with their preference. My approach to this subject would have been. As most sites will tell you, pictures will draw more interest and more responses to your profile. However you do what fits in your comfort zone, post pics, keep them private or don't post pics, the choice is yours. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
easleyfuncpl 58 Posted December 22, 2008 I hate up close pictures of genitals, Penises are annoying, but there's nothing worse than the close up shots where the female has her legs are spread...and as if that weren't enough, someone's hand (who knows if it's hers) spreading the lips as well. I find that to be so trashy. I prefer pics where you obviously took some time trying to set things up, and even if they are R rated, they are still done in a classy way. Oh which reminds me, I also hate the pics where someone's figured out how to use Windows Picture Manager and they add stupid effects to the damn thing. I can totally tell what you look like with the pic all gray and embossed. Thanks. Quote Share this post Link to post
dodgechevy 149 Posted December 23, 2008 Oh, we hate when people photoshop their faces out with a weird swirl or a huge flower or such! It makes it impossible to actually look at the picture. Please just crop the picture or take some nice shots from the neck down. Have to HATE the swirly face pics. Looks soooooooooooooo creepy. Also I wonder if they don't realize that those pics are easy to un-swirl. Quote Share this post Link to post
MrkLin 393 Posted December 23, 2008 Also I wonder if they don't realize that those pics are easy to un-swirl. No easier than reversing the negative image... I loves Photoshop! Quote Share this post Link to post
