What clothes do you like to see at clubs?

So we went to our first on-premise club Saturday and while we had a great time, we were amazed at the variety of clothes people were wearing. We got into a discussion about what outfits are the sexiest and so we thought we'd post a poll.

 

For the record, Mr. Ivory likes women who wear sexy dresses with some skin, but not showing everything. Mrs. Ivory likes her men wearing casual (jeans, button down shirt) but well fitting--why doesn't the oversized trend just die already?!

I responded to the men...Jeans and a button down polo...think that was the choice.

 

I think personally it's much sexier. Unless its a "formal" event I much rather see a guy in a good pair of fitted jeans!

 

Actually, that was one of the deciding factors on where to go NYE for us.

 

Hubby is a better dresser as far as formal...He is as comfortable in a suit as he is in jeans but personally I am not.

 

Now, I will wear the little slinky dresses however "after 5 formal required" isn't something I could be totally comfortable in. Probably could for a couple hours but not for an extended night out.

I like women who look like they enjoy being women and dress the part. It doesn't have to be short or skimpy (although I won't complain!) but I like to see women in skirts, hose, ankle bracelets & heels! And she can wear something on the top half of her body, too...

 

Given the choice between a nicely-dressed, but "ordinary" woman and a supermodel in jeans, and I'll look at the nicely-dressed lady all night long!

The post should have been multiple choice. But I like business casual with fewer clothes as the night progresses. You don't want to dress too casual, but the party girl/hooker look (IMHO) isn't very attractive. Bottom line, you should dress in a manner which shows the way that you want to be approached. So, if you're looking for someone who's ready to fuck at that very moment, go ahead and put on a mesh shirt and leather mini. If you're the type of person who wants a little bit of back ground information about your partner for the night, sporty casual works, and it can be quickly altered (unbutton your shirt, let the jeans lower enough to show off some butt, etc.) as you begin to feel more comfortable with your partners.

I said show us that skin, ladies. Leave something to the imagination, but not much! I love to look at women - I just love it. And the more you're willing to display, the more I'll look.

 

This is exactly why I absolutely love spring - it's my favorite time of the year. People have been bundled up against the cold of winter for so long, the shorts, short skirts, sundresses, and tank tops come out, and I'm in heaven.

 

Something I've always wondered though - don't mothers inform their daughters that in certain lighting conditions, white pants/shorts/skirts become almost transparent? Not that I'm complaining, you understand - I'm all for it. But be warned that sometimes we can tell that 'the carpet doesn't match the drapes,' if you get my drift...

I agree! Okay, I've only been to one party, so I shouldn't judge until I've been to more, but I was sad that the men were so covered up! Most of the women were wearing next to nothing and the men all had long-sleeved shirts and jeans on. And the jeans were baggy!

 

Men may be MORE visual than women, but some women like to look too! Honestly, if a man is completely covered up and his wife is wearing a tiny skirt and tube top, he looks more like her pimp than her partner.

To be honest, I've never really thought about how I dress. Ok, maybe a little - I mean, I don't dress like a slob or anything - I go casual. I'll wear a pair of nice jeans (blue or black - not baggy, but not painted on either) and a golf shirt. I prefer a golf shirt to anything I have to tuck into my pants, only because that way I don't have to keep tucking the shirt in.

 

One time I went all out and wore my kilt to a local on-premise club, figuring that it would at least be an ice breaker. Boy was I wrong! NOT ONE person said a word to me about it. Man was I disappointed. I figured that with all of the "what's under the kilt" questions I'm asked any other time I wear it, I'd have my hands full - or the ladies would - either way... Nope - not one person even approached me.

 

What say you, ladies? Would you rather see a nice pair of properly fitting jeans, or maybe some dress slacks, khakis, or maybe something else completely? Keep in mind that it's winter now...

I have to say that I like men's club wear- the nice khakis or dark pants, a casual buttoned shirt, open at the neck, preferably with a soft texture (the Mr got a new one from me for xmas), and good shoes. Nothing turns me off faster than running shoes. Took me about 3 months to drill that into the Mr's head, but now he knows- sneakers are for exercise, not playtime.

On dressing at a club here's a pet peeve of mine. The other night I saw two beautiful women dressed very hot!!! And the guy with them was dressed like a bum! Well maybe not a bum, but comparatively speaking... and it was New Year's Eve. Formal attire expected but not required. But, he was bouncing around like he was on something anyways....

A couple of weeks after the night I wore my kilt to the club, we went to a house party. Late that night, after I had played with a couple of ladies, I was describing my disappointment after wearing my kilt to the club, and nobody even mentioning it. At the time, I was sitting next to a very pretty blonde (who happened to be stark naked, as was I) and she suddenly looked over at me, and almost shouted, "Oh my God! That was you?"

 

It turns out that they were there that night. Her father is a member of a local Scottish-Military society, and she was afraid that I was a friend of her father's. She had seen me walk into the club in the kilt, and once we got to our table, she had made her husband take her home. I reassured her that I didn't know her father at all (I'm not a member of that society) and that even if I did know him, what happens at a club or party stays there. She relaxed, and was fine with everything - good thing too, because we had just spent a little over an hour doinking like sailors on a 24 hour pass. Every time we see each other now, we laugh about it - I ask her how her father is doing, and she asks me what's under my kilt.

I like to see clothes that accentuate a person's personality and physical features.

 

I've seen guys who wear nice jeans and their favorite t-shirt and they look incredibly HOT! Put those same guys in dress slacks and a sports jacket and they wouldn't look like they were comfortable or being themselves.

For me, it so depends on the person. I think guys look best in jeans (or slacks) and a button down shirt. That's just a sexy look for me. I think a man in a suit is also sexy but it's not really "right" for club wear.

 

For women, that's where it really varies. Each woman looks best in different things and a woman is sexiest when she knows what she looks good in. Some body shapes don't do well in short skirts and backless tops, some do. Knowing what works and wearing it well (and with her head held high) that's what I like to see on a woman.

For women: anything from super sexy clubwear/dress to stripper like "show that skin" kind of thing.

 

For men: black trousers or khakis with a nice shirt. Doesn't have to be button down, in fact some of my favorites on guys in that situation are short sleeve pull over with just the three or so buttons by the neck.

 

I hate guys in "club wear" for men, and showing up to a swing party or club in jeans doesn't do it for me on guys.

I like women in sexy dresses or jeans and a sexy top. I don't tend to like the super skimpy stuff until later in the evening - I like a little mystery at first!

 

For men I like a nice pair of jeans and a polo or button down shirt. I think trousers are a bit much unless it's a really swanky club. Khakis are always good.

 

I love to dress up, but I think it's important for people to be comfortable in what they're wearing. If I had to choose between a woman wearing a super sexy dress and great heels while being uncomfortable or the same woman wearing a nice pair of jeans and a sexy top with flats while feeling comfortable - I'd choose the latter!

 

Same goes for men. Men in suits can be soooo sexy, but if he's not comfortable wearing it, it won't be that sexy since he won't have the confidence to go with it.

As a guy, I like to see skin as much as any other guy, but not so much the over the top stripper-wear. For some reason, while I can appreciate the amount of skin that look shows without really showing everything, it just gives off an aloof vibe to me (kinda like strippers do, so go figure). The attraction of swinging to me is the people in it are real, and so I want to see a real women wearing whatever she thinks makes her feel her best. That can mean really skimpy, or maybe not, but when she is comfortable in it, then that is what shows.

 

For guys, hard to go wrong with nice dress jeans or slacks, a button down shirt, and nice shoes.

When dropping our daughter off at the babysitters we were asked if we were going to an award ceremony or something. I always figured, going to a club, dress to impress, so we dressed nice. She got several compliments on her dress as well. What we were surprised about though was how everyone was dressed so different. Yeah, some people were dressed as nice as us, others in jeans. To me though, it seemed like the couples dressed in jeans weren't really trying. It wasn't just the jeans, but everything else about them as well. They just were not trying to impress anyone at all, they also did not talk to anyone, very few people approached them and they never went back to the play rooms. That made up my mind for me. We will never wear jeans to the club. The next time we went, we did not dress near as nice, but still no jeans.

Yeah, same here. I will not wear jeans, but may wear slightly more casual slacks, but normally dress pants, undershirt, button down shirt or polo, slip-on shoes. Personally, I just have to wear an undershirt. I know it's one more thing to keep track of, but I always wear one.

 

Wife will always wear a dress from now on as well, and I told her next time she should not wear panties, but she ordered this sexy Lace Chemise she is going to wear next time:

My hubby and I are from Las Vegas, and here, less is more, especially in the summer months. I like to wear as little as possible, mostly a nice short and low cut dress to show off my tanned tits, of course no underwear. I like my man to also wear as little as possible, usually an sexy shirt, commando slacks or shorts (yes, it is ok here), and shoes no socks. We end up ditching our clothes anyway with others we meet, plus, being nudists, we never wear clothes when home.

One thing to take note of: how thick is his neck? Off the shelf men's button-down shirts are usually tailored in such a way that a man with a thick neck will have a voluminous shirt lower down. I have a seventeen inch neck, deep chest, and very broad shoulders. Off the shelf shirts that fit my neck are, typically, like tents below the sternum. You can buy "slim fit" shirts, but if you don't look like a male model those don't always fit. If you have any extra weight, or are particularly muscular through your trunk, they won't fit very well. A naturally thick-built man, or a body-builder, finds himself betwixt and between "average built guy" styles. Your post has me thinking "maybe I need a tailored shirt or two," but that's not cheap.

My wife liked to come in a nice outfit, such as a skirt and a button down blouse that she could slowly unbutton one at a time, until it was wide open, revealing her bra (if she was wearing one.) Then, she always brought a nice piece of lingerie (Christmas was a particularly good time for that stuff) to change into at the appropriate time.

 

Me, like the others, nice slacks, button down shirt. Boring, but about as effective as you can get.
