S L S Hot Date, have you had any success using it?

Recommended Posts

Usually, no.

We've posted some evenings when we were available and got nothing.

We've posted when we're going to be at events, and occasionally someone will say "see you there!"

We've responded to postings a couple times. One time we got a response and it turned into a play date. It wasn't a very good time unfortunately, but that's beside the point.

The success rate is poor if you ask me. I'm not convinced enough people realize how to use the Hot Dates function.

We used it once where a couple was working on getting a small group together for hotel fun. They had a great profile with great certs so we went for it. Was an awesome night and we made some fun new friends. Haven't bothered with it otherwise.

We look at it but never really see anyone we are interested in...of course we are really picky.

We've used it about a dozen times. We've scored as a direct result of it about twice. Lousy statistics, if you ask me. I agree with Dont.Stop, in that it's not being used right. I would say in my area (Chicago NW burbs) on any given Saturday night there will be around 20 listings. Of those, about half are people announcing that they will be at so and so a club (which to me means you've FOUND something to do with your night, not that you're LOOKING for something to do, thus it does me no good). About 3/4 of those left are random dudes (which isn't our bag, and I would venture to say MAYBE 1 of those are legitimate). That leaves MAYBE 1 or 2 couples that are actually looking for a "hot date". Now, applying the same hit to miss ratio of actually "cold calling" couples, add a small increase in odds considering they're actually looking to do something, subtract a fair amount for those that find dates but fail to remove themselves from the Hot Date list, and you can see how trying to connect via Hot Date is sort of like farting in a windstorm.

Ok this isn't exactly hot date, but other websites have similar features of a "short term opening notice" for the night. Some are called hookups, booty calls, hot dates, whatever.

Anyway, as singles Ive (mr) had success, and of course the mrs has a ton of success (gals routinely will have a dozen or more prospects, whereas guys like me will have 1-4 usually)

Yes, we do live in the twin cities, which has a ton of swingers it seems. So maybe that is slanted in our favor. Also we are only talking about Friday or Saturday nights. Any other time has a much reduced success rate.

As a couple we've had success too, although as a couple we've run into more problems also. A real key for a couples posting is being able to host or prepared to host.

And I'm not mentioning the times when you use a short term posting feature for a meeting location. Those always tend to work, but it's a relative term since a lot of people planning on going to a bar meet aren't always planning on anything more than social contact.

We've posted ads but rarely get answers except from people who don't match what we're looking for or haven't read our profile and noted our preferences. We have contacted a couple people who posted ads, but without success...sometimes not even a 'no, thank you'.

We've used it, but have never gotten anything positive out of it. Like most things swinger related, location matters.

This is typically what happens with us.

I forgot all about this option on S.L.S. since I've defaulted the home page to the Club Events tab.

We'll have to take a look at it over a bit of time, but right now it looks like most of the posts are quite a distance from us. That's one of the drawbacks of living in the sticks.

You are hitting close to the reason that I became curious enough to ask the question in the first place. I recently traveled to Sacramento and looked into the Hot Dates for that area. The Hot Date calender was loaded for every day of the week. This just never seems to happen for southwestern Pennsylvania.

I think that's it exactly!

We had virtually no luck with it in Seattle, but real success here in Boston. Unfortunately, it totally depends on where you live.

Usually we use the hot date feature when we are planning to go to a club. Sometimes we get responses sometimes we don't. This weekend we didn't have any specific plans so we just said, "looking for fun, any suggestions?"

We got a lot of emails on sls and swingerzonecentral (booty call is their hot date feature). We did end up meeting a couple, so I'd say it is successful. We also got some emails from people who happened to see our profile that way and are interested in meeting at another time.

I think the more people that use it the more popular it will become. It's a nice way to easily draw attention to your profile.

We travel a lot for business, most of the time on short notice. We've had good success with the Hot Date feature, and we've met some great couples using it for last minute dates on weekends in strange cities. Many times we've had to take our listing down early because of all the responses. We also change our profile location to reflect our current location, but we don't seem to get the response we get when we use Hot Date. We make it clear on Hot Date that we're in only in town for a short time and that weeds out a lot of the "friends first" crowd. We check out our local Hot Date listings when we're home, but rarely anything going on. Hot Date can only improve as more people take advantage of it.

I'm returning to this thread because I'm now pleased to report that the Hot Date calendar has paid off for us three times within the past year. We met a couple of really great people in a travel city yesterday evening. Worked for us when we were in California in the spring. To update on my Sacramento trip late last year, I did meet a very nice couple on a couple of evening during this business trip. The trick seems to be to not become frustrated with the several dozen people who will contact and who start with the words, "I know it doesn't say anything about this in your profile but would you be interested in . . ."

If we have plans to go out, we will usually take a look. Never made contact using this feature to meet a single or couple. Now the "Hot Date" feature has the feature to meet couples or view nearby events. We do use it regularly to find a party. MOST of them have a sign up sheet, so we take a look to get an idea of the type of crowd that will be there.

We answered a hot date post from a couple that was visiting our area back in June. We met at a diner and talked. I mentioned a nearby hotel and asked if they were interested. They were so the four of us checked into a room. We had sexy fun and I'm 99% sure everyone had a good time.

When we were parting ways we said they should feel free to contact us the next time they were in town. They said sure.

Recently I saw another hot date post from the same couple and was a little bummed they didn't contact us directly. Perhaps they didn't enjoy themselves as much as I thought they did. Then a couple of days later they contacted us! We could only meet for a quick lunch but we talked about setting up some future plans.

They're a great couple and we are really looking forward to meeting with them again.

As an update. We used it when we went to Orlando and had a successful hookup. Once in three years...not certain I would call it a success, lol.

      Hello!

We've been purusing ads looking for a single male as of late. We've found that in many cases men will state in their ads that they are "very open minded" or "very kinky" or even "open to new experiences".

For the most part, these men are simply bisexual or bi curious and we're now wondering if there are secret code words and hidden meanings behind other adverts we've come across. Is it common here to use phrases like "very open minded" to indicate that one is bisexual? What other phrases should we key in to?

Ok BE 100% honest people, How many times did you write, delete, rewrite, change, delete and add the HEADLINE and/or DESCRIPTION of your PROFILES. I know there is some bright, word savy, super confident in how they describe themselves individuals and I envy and admire that about you. But for some of us, at least us, it was kinda hard. I mean how do you sum up who you and your mate are as individuals, your sex life, your expectations and try not to sound creepy ALL AT THE SAME TIME?!?!?!? THEN DO IT IN A FEW WORDS ON THE HEADLINE TO ATTRACT PEOPLE!!! LOL

I'm glad to announce ours ended up being LETS HAVE A BLAST. smh I just said fuck it, I know sexually we can hang with the best of them and that we're good down to earth people so LETS HAVE A BLAST it is. To all that went thru our dilemma, cheers! Hope we get contacted, if not we'll be right back trying to come up with some catchy 5 word phrase that says WE WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU BUT I NEED YOU TO WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH US TO SO HERE IS A BRIEF SUMMARY OF WHO WE ARE AND I HOPE IT WORKS! To those who didn't stress, NO sex for you tonight because your headline probably scored you and your partner some bomb ass swinging nights! But we still love you!!!!

Well thanks for reading, we hope our humor tickled you a bit and feel free to share your thoughts!!!

How do you handle privacy on SLS? I am unsure of whether I should put faces in my pics or not. I just don't want these pictures to be harvested by pic collectors or stalkers or things like that. I am debating on what to do.

      Any suggestions?
