CuriousCreative 17 Posted February 22, 2015 The Mr and I are very interested in going to a club or party, but I'm a little nervous about the etiquette for certain issues that may arise. Let me just get right to it: Has anyone ever experienced a case of nervous flatulence? If so, how do you deal with it in a club, party, or with another couple? Quote Share this post Link to post
angelkin 1,326 Posted February 22, 2015 I'd say a pre-emptive strike might be helpful. Gas-ex or something along those lines? Otherwise, just be polite and I wouldn't go into too much detail other than maybe saying you're not feeling entirely well. Quote Share this post Link to post
MrDiscover 802 Posted February 22, 2015 I don't think it is different than a regular night out. Try to keep your cool & indeed just say you are not feeling well. Of course, it helps to keep an eye on what you are eating the hours before going to a club or party, what's not inside can not escape So don't drink (much) sodas and soft drinks the day of your date. The carbonation in it is just air, which can result in uncomfortable and excessive gas. Fructose, the sugar used to sweeten some of the drinks can also be difficult to digest, resulting in intestinal gas. Some fruits like prunes, apples, peaches, and pears contain another sugar, called sorbitol, which causes excessive gas. Sugar-free gum and candy are sweetened with sorbitol, which is why they can lead to excessive gas, too. The sugars in some vegetables can lead to intestinal gas as they are digested. Onions and artichokes contain fructose, a type of sugar, while another sugar, raffinose, is found in asparagus, brussels sprouts, broccoli, and cabbage, among others. Vegetables that have soluble fiber, like peas, can cause gas as they’re digested in the large intestine. Then, of course, beans. Beans create excessive gas for two reasons. First, they have also a high raffinose content. Second, beans also contain soluble fiber, whose digestion releases intestinal gas. Oatmeal is also one of the foods that can cause intestinal gas because of their high soluble-fiber content. Starches, which are very high in carbohydrates, can cause gas when your digestive tract is breaking them down. Unlike all the other starches, however, the one that doesn’t seem to create intestinal gas is rice. HTH, MrDiscover Quote Share this post Link to post
asncpl 730 Posted February 23, 2015 I agree with MrDiscover that a bit of prevention goes a long way by watching what you eat before a party. With that said, it is a normal body function and I don't think it's a big deal if one sneaks out. I usually ignore it but if it's something that simply can't be ignored, a quick apology and some nervous laughter usually follow. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Let me just get right to it: Has anyone ever experienced a case of nervous flatulence? If so, how do you deal with it in a club, party, or with another couple? In my experience, the etiquette for this is the same for a swingers gathers as a regular gathering... apologize and generally everyone pretends like it didn't happen or laughs about it. GoldCoCouple 4,070 Posted February 23, 2015 Yes, they do have a pill for this as well... Quote Share this post Link to post
kikonkrome 845 Posted April 6, 2015 Ok this is really funny because it happens to me. Frankly I go to the bathroom, before I go to the club, a few 'extra' times while I'm there. I did it last night in between sessions. Nobody knew the difference, just like I had to pee. Quote Share this post Link to post
