JustAskJulie 2,595 Posted August 23, 2015 Hotels willing to host swinger parties are often not the nicest places to stay. They need the business too much to turn a swinger party away, and sometimes it shows. Granted that's not always the case, as sometimes swinger parties are held at very nice establishments that just happened to be managed by people with open minds (or people who are greedy enough not to care). A recent conversation reminded me of my worst swinger hotel experience (one that has tainted that hotel brand for me for 15 years since). I was involved in putting together a party in downtown Detroit about 15 years ago. It was scheduled for mid December (which in Michigan means cold and snow). The first room we were given was rather cold when we walked in and we soon realized it was because the window had been left open and the heat off. WTH! Over the course of the next few rooms, before we landed in what would be our room for the night we encountered (in no particular order): - a closet full of trash - a bathroom where the bathtub had been ripped out allowing water to go wherever resulting in wet toilet paper - a phone that had been literally ripped out of the wall (I think this was in the same room as the closet full of trash). We weren't alone as we heard a variety of reports from others from walking into rooms where it appeared people were living to moldy toilet paper. In the end I opted to go home with friends rather than stay at the hotel. I recall another hotel adjacent to an off-premise party where our room had an actual hole in the wall open to the outside of the building. These days I look back and laugh and I'm really thankful for the plethora of options to get real reviews of hotels before staying there. so, what's your worst hotel story? SW_PA_Couple 4,026 Posted August 24, 2015 A few years ago, a hotel near here seemed to be a little too much in need of business, as you suggested, to turn away a lifestyle event. It was billed as a New Years Eve take-over. * It turned out to not really be a take-over. Poor, unsuspecting bargain-conscious tourists were subjected to half-naked people in the lobby. * The boilers had failed (think Pennsylvania in winter) and there were no showers available other than cold showers . * in the morning, a crowd of somewhat aromatic swingers were treated to a complimentary breakfast of empty steam trays. It was not a recognizable name hotel. It had, at a time in the past, been a Holiday Inn. But Holiday had sold it to a privately-owned local business. Quote Share this post Link to post

kikonkrome 844 Posted October 16, 2015 So this really isn't a worst experience, more of a bad party idea. 'Naked Ninja' WTF?!?! So we couldn't really separate the men from the women. Everybody was in baggy stuff, it was a total turn off. As a swinger party idea that one flat out sucked out loud. Quote Share this post Link to post
MrDiscover 802 Posted October 19, 2015 Our second hotel date was in a wonderful hotel. The contrast with the quality of the room was big. It was shocking (pun intended). - TV only showed static noise. - When showering, water flowed freely into our room, only to be stopped accidental by a natural dam formed by our clothes on the floor (it was after the date). - About half of the light bulbs were either broken or gone and the worst - When MsD touched the lit mirror, she received a 220 volt shock Quote Share this post Link to post
