GoldCoCouple 4,068 Posted September 8, 2015 Leaving on Friday for a week in Cancun at Desire. Don't really have anything else to say, just looking forward to going and there's not a lot of people who we can actually tell WHERE we are going. It's been WAY too long since our last vacation. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

GuyInMD79 1,500 Posted September 9, 2015 GoldCoCouple, enjoy your week of naked fun! Which one of the Desire resorts are you going to- Desire Pearl or Desire Riviera Maya? I have heard of some differences between the two resorts. We have been to Desire Riviera Maya twice, and are good friends with a couple who has been to Pearl a few times. cplnuswing 4,713 Posted September 9, 2015 Hope you have a great time! We've never been there, but it is on our bucket list. Please give us a full report when you get back! Quote Share this post Link to post
GuyInMD79 1,500 Posted September 9, 2015 So, here's the skinny we've heard about the two Desire resorts. Riviera Maya has a slightly younger demographic than Pearl, and a more active lifestyle play vibe than Pearl has. On the other hand, we've heard comments that the facility at Pearl is a little bit nicer. At either resort, the liveliness of lifestyle activity is entirely dependent on the guests who are there at the time. When we went last October, there was more play going on at the resort, and nearly everybody was naked around the pool and hot tub. When we returned this past February, the play vibe was more muted, and there were a surprising number of people who were taken aback at the thought of engaging in swinging behavior. Also, there were a significant number of suit bottoms, and some suit tops, around the pool and hot tub. Hopefully you will be joined by a lively collection of guests, and in any case it's a beautiful, sexy place to have a vacation! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
GoldCoCouple 4,068 Posted September 9, 2015 We've stayed (once before) and are staying at Riviera Maya. We plan on visiting Pearl this trip, but because of the location there are much stricter limits on where you can have skin on. Since Pearl is in town, there is NO nudity on the beach (why even bother going?). We leave on Friday and can't wait to get there. Quote Share this post Link to post
njbm 2,901 Posted September 9, 2015 Have fun! Been to both Desires. You will have fun. Quote Share this post Link to post
GuyInMD79 1,500 Posted September 10, 2015 I did not know about the beach at Pearl not being a nude beach. Another good reason to go to RM instead! As you know, the beach there at Riviera Maya is not only nude ("Playa Nudista!"), it is also a public beach, with people from outside the resort walking up and down the coastline. So besides the welcome cleanup of seaweed on the sand, the staff at Desire RM do two important things around the beach- 1) they make sure the guests are not engaging in any hanky-panky on the beach or the cabanas along the sand, and 2) they make sure that any non-resort folks walking along the beach do not "accidentally" find their way onto the resort property (which starts at the high-tide line on the beach, IIRC). GoldCoCouple 4,068 Posted September 10, 2015 Yes, since Pearl is located on the main strip and next to the boat dock, nudity is limited to inside the resort. As for Riviera Maya, I've heard (and seen from Google Maps) that there is now another resort being built next door (south) and hope that it won't limit or change the atmosphere of the resort. Currently, people who walk up on the resort on the beach really have a walk to get there. This new resort is RIGHT NEXT DOOR. I'm hoping that it is 'skin friendly'. I'll know more tomorrow as our plane leaves EARLY in the morning to get us there. See everyone in a week or so...if we come back. Quote Share this post Link to post
GuyInMD79 1,500 Posted September 10, 2015 Yes, we have been at DRM during the construction of this new resort. It's being built a little on the tall side, which has led some people at DRM to be concerned about sight lines. I can tell you that the workers always seemed to want to take their lunch break up on the top level of the skeleton structure, just so they could have a peek over at the rooftop hot tub area! Joking aside, we also heard a rumor that those upper-level parts would not have guest rooms; rather, they would be resort office space. Have a great, nekkid time, and give us the 411 on the latest with the new resort when you get back! Also, be sure to dress up for the theme nights- guys, too! Guys who dress for the themes are seen as more bold, fun-loving, and sexy- at least, that's what I told myself each night as I put on another "small enough to fit in one hand" costume for the theme night! GoldCoCouple 4,068 Posted September 10, 2015 Will do. While we don't plan on going to all of the theme nights, I can tell you that Ms. is planning on the 'anything but cloths' night dressed in rope. Quote Share this post Link to post
pearlcpl 19 Posted September 10, 2015 The beach at Pearl was clothing optional when we were there in Aug 2014. Did they change that or are people just misinformed? Quote Share this post Link to post

Rope? That sounds hot! I trust you know someone who can "rope her up" her up skillfully... Quote Share this post Link to post
sahajacpl 95 Posted September 16, 2015 DRM is a great place for a couple to have fun and sex. We were there few years ago, when they had just opened and loved it. Food and service was great and would go again. Quote Share this post Link to post
GoldCoCouple 4,068 Posted September 22, 2015 Well, we're back (and questioning why we allowed ourselves to leave). I will have a write up in the next few days, once I catch back up at work and with sleep. Short version: I really saw the improvements from when we were there two+ years ago. It was good then and got better. Still concerned about the HUGE resort being built next door (400 rooms+?). More to come... 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
bluewatercpl 17 Posted October 16, 2015 The beach at Pearl was clothing optional when we were there in Aug 2014. Did they change that or are people just misinformed? People are misinformed. The beach at Pearl is clothing optional and always has been. Pearl is about a 20 minute walk on the beach to the North from Puerto Morelos. Beaches in Mexico are public beaches so you may get people from another resort walking by but the security at Pearl keeps them walking. The only restriction is that you are not supposed to have sex on the beach. We have been three times this year. We go about every 4 months or so. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
