Bondage restraints?

Started getting into bondage and she likes being a sub at times. We have done a mfm with ropes and was fun. The rope play does not seem to be our thing. We like the idea of restraining without the hours it takes to use a rope. Doing an amazon or google search for bondage restraints brings up way to many products. Wanted to know what people have found that will actually hold her in place and not cause any pain. Something reliable, well made, strong Velcro, red would be preferred, and can be bought on a safe website.

We have a small collection of Sportsheets products, wrist/ankle/thigh cuffs. They're simple designs. Velcro, padded, with D-rings. If she was committed to escaping, she could find a way, but she isn't. Last time I got them out, it was for ice torture. They held up well. There are other items like a harness that goes over the doorframe and a spreader bar, etc.

I prefer leather because of the comfort factor and no marks. Ropes tend to give me rope burn and it's tough to hide marks on the wrists. We use leather straps with buckles.

The ones pictured with the under the bed kit are like the ones we have. Neoprene rubber with velcro. They're sturdy and comfortable, but not exactly security-grade if that's the kind of thing you're going for. A committed submissive could rip them free.

I think our cuffs that came with the sportsheets are a padded canvas fabric and very comfortable. They have overlapping Velcro closures but neither of us have ever tried to get out of them, but are confident with some effort we could slip our hands out or loosen the Velcro enough.

We own many sets of restraints, both leather and nylon strap with Velcro. From personal experience I can tell you that cost equals quality. I've had cheap leather restraints and my bottom pulled them apart during play.

We've got leather wrist and ankle restraints from church of sinvention out of Canada. They are a little more costly but they are real high quality. They're comfortable and unescapable. I highly recommend them.

I know this is an old post, but in case anybody has found their way here by searching for restraints, I figured I would drop a few ideas.

 

The under the bed and cheaper restraints are a good starting point, but if the person being restrained is a little stronger, then you are probably looking for something a little more heavy duty, any tention on the cheap leather cuffs, tends to tear the leather or bend the D ring.

 

The premium extreme restraints branded cuffs are pretty good, they are strong, have lasted us a few years, with very minimal signs of wear and tear and in terms of price, they are mid-low range.

 

We out grew these and wanted something a little special and figured we would go custom made. Searching around we found a set on etsy by a man named Ber from the store BearLeatherBondage. They are extremely well hand made, and they come in a complete set for those out there like us that like everything to match.

Much the same here. I find this thread interesting. We in our poly family don't do any S&M stuff, even light, except Lora and I, and only when we are alone from the others (the guys and Clair find it disturbing). Thus far we have only used verbally abuse, wrestled, slapped/spanked one another, pulled hair, and peed on each other in the shower, but the idea of tying her up or Lora tying me up is exciting. That's where I ordered a lot of supplies from to build my swing.

I used closed cell foam camp padding from wal-mart where I'm guessing you used the weight lifting belts. It's super cushioning and easy to wipe off/clean.

 

I still need to add a head rest to ours. But outside of that it's awesome. Not sure if you used the Golds chin-up bar but that's what makes ours portable.

We have regular family and guests in our home but we wanted to have some eye bolts in the ceiling. So we got creative and mounted some heavy timber frames on the trusses in the ceiling above out bed and had a heavy 1/2" coupler nut welded to a plate and screwed to the timber from the top, then mounted a removable smoke detector over the top. When we want fun, we take the smoke detector down and screw in a 1/2" eye bolt, it could probably handle 200-300 lbs. Fun ends, eye bolt comes down, and smoke detector goes back up - completely hidden.

I'm tellin ya....get a Gold's Chin-up Bar at Walmart for ~$20. Nothing to drill, weld, mount, hide, etc. Just lift it out of the doorway when you're done.
