funfitfvcpl 16 Posted May 18, 2016 We received an email on a swinger site from a couple who invited us to a house party they are throwing for Memorial Day weekend. We're intrigued but not sure about going because we don't know these people and they are from three states over. In their email they said they have six couples and four females already attending. We've attended house parties before but they have been from a group we belong to and can see who is planning to attend and the that throws them does house parties and hotel takeovers. Any suggestions on how to approach this? Quote Share this post Link to post
N&G 207 Posted May 18, 2016 Why don't you just ask the people who sent you the invitation? Since you don't know them and it's a long distance I would suspect that they sent blind emails to a hundred profiles that they didn't read. Also keep in mind that the only way that you know how many are coming is after the party is over. If they claim that six couples and four females are coming maybe one or two couples and no single females will actually show up. I would probably pass on the party unless it was close enough to home that you don't mind leaving right away if it's not what you want. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
SW_PA_Couple 4,026 Posted May 18, 2016 Why don't you just ask the people who sent you the invitation? This would be the thing to do. You might learn, for example, that people you do know have recommended you to the host and hostess. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
funcoupledayton 2,708 Posted May 18, 2016 Unless you are already planning to be in the area, I would ignore it. You have to wonder how desperate they are to invite a complete stranger 100's of miles away. Unless, as SWPA suggests you have mutual friends. Quote Share this post Link to post
cplnuswing 4,713 Posted June 4, 2016 Just speaking personally, we would be very unlikely to attend such an event. If it was one of those come one come all house parties that is held on a large piece of property out in the country, then we might, since we would consider it as basically a public event and the fact we received an invite was just shotgun advertising. But, for a small party, we would have lots of questions about why we received an invite when we were so far away and given the distance involved, wouldn't be willing to attend just to get those questions answered. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
