SexyRedmondCpl 128 Posted June 28, 2017 We decided to check out a hotel party near us last Saturday. It was a new group, so we didn't really know what to expect. I'll tell you what we didn't expect, though... We're standing in line at the bar right after we arrive. The host comes over and introduces himself. "Hey. I'm so-and-so. I'm the host." Then, from behind me my wife says, "Oh, this is awkward." Awkward? He's confused. I'm confused. Until... I turn around to see her standing right in front of her boss. Well, we're all adults. We're all there for the same thing. So we acknowledged the awkwardness, exchanged brief small talk, then all went about enjoying the party. Separately. Some bridges you don't cross. The first time in 10 years of swinging that we've ever run into someone we know in vanilla life. Frankly, I can't believe it didn't happen sooner. So, I guess it does actually happen. 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
SW_PA_Couple 4,023 Posted June 28, 2017 . . . The first time in 10 years of swinging that we've ever run into someone we know in vanilla life. Frankly, I can't believe it didn't happen sooner. So, I guess it does actually happen. It happened to us at about five years into our journey. We, like you, could not believe it. But it was not, like you, the boss lady. I was simply a member of the shul (the Jewish congregation). We did, ultimately, have a big laugh about it. You are right. There are some bridges that you do not cross. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
njbm 2,863 Posted June 28, 2017 We met my wife's then boss at a nudist resort. We met a work colleague of mine at a lifestyle Tantric seminar. It is shocking! But after the shock wears off, there is usually camaraderie. But it may be best not to let worlds collide and play w/ them. Quote Share this post Link to post
ViSexual 1,008 Posted June 28, 2017 I'd have no problem at all with finding out that acquaintances, friends, or even relatives were also in the lifestyle. It simply adds to future conversations. The only time I ever did run into someone I, previously, knew was a brother of a girl I'd dated in high school. Quote Share this post Link to post
Guest Posted June 28, 2017 That would be awkward, but it's good that everyone was able to handle it like adults. Might make for interesting conversation between your wife and her boss at work later... At least it was not a person's pastor and spouse at a hotel party. Quote Share this post Link to post
SexyRedmondCpl 128 Posted June 28, 2017 Might make for interesting conversation between your wife and her boss at work later So far, she tells me it's been completely normal at work. Very much a, "let's just pretend this never happened," thing right now. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
The Expat 17 Posted December 21, 2017 In our 30 years in the life, our neighbour & wife were guests. We just acted, all four, if we did not know each other. Worked. Quote Share this post Link to post
couplers 4,588 Posted December 21, 2017 David in our poly family had it happen the other way around. Not a "lifestyle" thing, but a girl that he used to be sexually intimate with joined the company he worked at. He said that it wasn't awkward, and that when they were introduced they just said that they already knew each other. Quote Share this post Link to post
older couple 132 Posted December 31, 2017 We had an awkward moment at a new nudist resort we wanted to try. We ran into our insurance agent and his wife and her female lover. Wife and I had no idea they were nudists, she was bi and both swingers. We all four turned red, clumsy about what to say, and then his wife's female lover started laughing and said well, now that the awkard moment is over, introduce me. For some reason, we all just suddenly relaxed, started laughing, talking, and had a good time. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
Fundamental Law 2,882 Posted January 2, 2018 .... well, now that the awkward moment is over, introduce me. For some reason, we all just suddenly relaxed, started laughing, talking, and had a good time. Truth is stranger than fiction. Truth is also easier than fiction. Quote Share this post Link to post
MrSaxon 39 Posted June 17, 2018 Our second time at a club we ran into one of my old apprentices; she was there with her flavor of the month toy and it was a little strange. No play; the dynamic was weird. That being said with our somewhat straight laced and intolerant metro community it was nice to see a familiar face. Quote Share this post Link to post
Guest Posted June 17, 2018 Hahah running into your boss at an event, I'd have asked for a pay rise :P Quote Share this post Link to post
Guest Posted June 17, 2018 Met a couple from the next block at Desires once. It took a little conversation to figure that out and after that is was just hellos and good mornings. Really never bumped into them again in the neighborhood. On a nude cruise, we met a guy that kind of hung at the same hotel bar with us and about 40 or 50 regulars that went for the live music and dancing but we knew him well enough that we were all on a first name basis. He apparently got some photos of me sunning nude and shared them with some of the males. Oh well, it’s always nice to have your own PR man. Quote Share this post Link to post
playfulchick89 25 Posted July 2, 2018 My husband and I went out with another couple and ran into my sister, brother in law, and my friends- who by the way did not tell me their plans! ? Quote Share this post Link to post
