First time at a swingers club, unsure about going again

Well we finally made it to a club which was fairly local. Intentionally went on a daytime as we figured it would be a bit quieter for our first time. It was a complete sausage fest lol. There were 7 or 8 blokes in there and not a single female so my wife felt very uncomfortable and self conscious. The people in there were very nice and respectful and we spoke to several, hung around for a few hours to see if anyone else turned up but it just wasn’t our day today. We have a favorite dive bar we go to. (In the midwest, that’s a dirty, basic bar, went to one in Florida called Dive Bar, and the walls were hung with scuba and snorkel stuff.) Thursday, Friday, Saturday evenings, it’s a hot place, old juke box going, lots of people dressed very casually, cheap drinks, cash only, fun. We went in once on a weekday, early afternoon, it was indeed a dive bar, just a few old, some very dirty, guys having drinks, watching the ball game. Either try the same club on a weekend evening when the working people are off and can go or try a different club.

We've had a chat this morning and think we'll give it another go as you suggest. The place itself was very nice and clean. Big pool, hot tub and sauna so quite a nice place really just to relax and while away a bit of time. Just one bloke that seemed to follow us wherever we went but he wasn't pushy or anything. Guess he was just waiting for an invite or a show. This was really just a scoping exercise anyway so I wasn't too disappointed but didn't really go what we went for as we didn't chat to another couple. It's school holidays here in the U.K. so our fault for being too keen I suppose and not thinking.

Not sure how it works over there but in the UK most clubs keep Saturday night for couples only, or on Friday night single men are allowed but their numbers are restricted

Many clubs depend on the extra money the single men will pay to make their margin. Many also have couples only nights or other single male restrictions. The better ones discourage creepy singe males from hovering about masturbating or being pushy.

 

Theme nights are often the best for clubs. Costumes or whatever. Those are general best attended by couples and creepy single guys are fewer. The crowds seem to be the most fun.

I just posted about our 1st time and gave some reasons for the place. Lots of research and mainly the comments on the different travel sights. We wanted options and to be able to use those as we wished. Couples of all ages with a few singles. Respectful with most knowing the rules and NO MEANS NO!. Approached by some but nothing pushy and if/when we didn't click no one was offended. When we approached and nothing happened, we were not offended nor felt rejected. Had a great time and discovered a totally new and exciting wife that I never new I had. The "side effect" continues.

I strongly suspect that swingers' clubs in the UKOGBANI are not essentially different from U.S.A. clubs. That being said, clubs in the U.S.A. range in character from meat-house-dominated-by-slathering-male-beasts to young-and-fashionable-couples-only. None near us are at those extremes but the more sophisticated one near us reserves Saturday evenings for couples and allows single men only on Friday evenings. We know a club in the state of Tennessee that has a couples-only area into which single men are allowed only when specifically invited by a couple.

 

The couples-only-single-men-restricted clubs seems to have higher membership fees or higher admission fees.
