Do all women use back up birth control when playing?

Recommended Posts

We played with a couple where the woman could still get her period. She offered to play bareback, but I said I play with condoms and she consented no problem.

However, after a raucous reverse cowboy session, she got off me with the condom in her.

Can I assume she uses another form of birth control? I guess I could have asked. She did not seem alarmed.

I have mostly used either the pill or implant as my primary birth control, sometimes just the pull out method. I never use a backup as I'm usually fine going bareback anyway.

I meant back up to a condom that wound up off of me and in her.

We used condoms and prescription birth control. It's a good thing, too because one of the condoms did break/come off a few weeks ago when my wife was with her lover. She had no concerns at all about pregnancy. STDs but not being knocked up. ;)

When she goes off script birth control, we will then use condoms and spermicide/pull out and always have the morning after available from her ob/gyn.

Have a great NYE and 2018!

I should have called it reverse cowgirl, since I was doing a woman.

Pull out is not a reliable method. Men never know when they are going to explode, plus pre-ejaculate cannot be felt by the male during intercourse, but it can impregnate. Spermicide will help.

I think bc pills or iuds are #s 1 and 2.

I think all of my friends are on some kind of bc. Even my friends not swinging. I do know a few that have had bad reactions to the pill. I had been on the pill since High School. Before the pill I had some real scares. A few times condoms came off. Stupidly had sex without condoms where guys went too far. Recently I changed to shots. A few of my friends have iuds. We are all young and I think all of us want to have kids in the future meaning no tied tubes. I would say any condom use is for disease prevention for us not for pregnancy.

I've had to come off the pill due to side effects, my doctor tried 4 different types with me, the first was fine for years but then caused problems and the others also caused me problems. I used to have the arm implant which I persevered with for a while but it made me gain tons of weight, get bad periods, cramps, spots, mood swings etc.

Back-up birth control? I thought maybe that was a new euphemism for anal sex.

Lol, I think it is. No reason anal sex can't be a primary method too lol.

The pill isn’t for everybody. In the beginning I had friends who got the pill for other reasons not for birth control. I know girls who had anxiety problems too. My big problem was forgetfulness. I’m lucky it’s not bad reactions. I’ve had scares in my life. How many times have I prayed for my period. I never took the morning after pill. And I think only a guy would say anal sex is birth control. I have given blow jobs when I was unsure. No guy ever complained about that. Now that I’m married and we started doing this I don’t think I could depend on condoms for BC. I should insist on condoms but I don’t. I really can’t tell if a guy is using one anyhow. It’s more for the guy.

Do insist on condoms. It reduces the transmission of HIV, HPV (hopefully young Swingers are inoculated) and HSV.

I can speak for my wife. When we first started we agreed only safe sex unless it was the two of us. Any strangers would need a condom. Well this also changed when we had a misguided threesome with a friend who eventually and ok to me and her entered her bareback, tried to pull out and she in the heat of the moment put it back in. We know him so no biggie there as we also have "back up" protection.

We think condoms are for disease protection and expect anyone we meet to have other ways to protect from pregnancy. We meet many newbies and if I am going to have sex I ask if they are on birth control. If we meet someone online we ask all the questions first.

We always use condoms in addition to a second form of birth control (right now birth control is menopause ). Condoms are for disease protection (even though we don't just jump into bed with anyone) and emotion protection. Condoms add a barrier that keeps the two just a little separated keeping emotional attachments just that much more apart. Just a safety thing in both cases...

The two closest calls I have had was.....

1. We had began seeing this other girl and on several different occasions I asked her is she was currently using contraception, to which she replied "YES" so for the following few weeks I was bare backing her all the time until she let slip in conversation that her so called "Contraception" was actually some herbal remedy she had once read about in a book. It wasn't proper contraception at all and looking into this mixture of herbs she was taking it didn't even say it stopped pregnancy, it said some people find it lowers the chance of pregnancy, so basically she was putting our lives into the hands of some new age herbal potion and from that point I always ask WHAT contraception people are on?

2. Some years ago I began dating a girl who said she was on the pill, we began fucking each other bare back, some weeks later she began complaining that she was coming on her period. I questioned this and said I thought the pill basically stopped most women from having periods? The girl replied "Oh I stopped taking the pill a few weeks back because it was messing with my body" or in other words "You have been fucking me for a few weeks with no contraception whatsoever and I just didn't tell you"

Personally I don't like sleeping with any women now unless I know she has an implant in her arm. I just don't trust it when a women says she is on the pill, I have dated women who use the pill as a contraception and at times my ex would forget to take the pill for 2 or 3 days in a row, and sadly male forms of contraception are way less effective. The male implant for example is still in experimental phase and looking into the male implant its basically useless.

I'd say in my life I have been with 4 or 5 women who have either lied about been on contraception / have constantly forgotten to use the contraception / have suddenly stopped using contraception without letting me know. The only thing that has saved me from unwanted pregnancies is me pulling out.

That's really aweful of them! If I'm off the pill and not on any form of birth control I always tell any men I have sex with. They can then decide what to do. It's just not fair otherwise.

Some women do, some women don't. My wife is regular prescription birth control and always uses condoms when we swing. OTOH, I had a regular play partner who wasn't on anything and we always used condoms. It really depends.

Been using the pull out method the last 5 years, only one scare

Wow!!! I truly hope you are only playing once or twice a year. Unless there’s an infertility factor here, there’s a high probability of a pregnancy. Or that you were kidding about using withdrawal as your means of contraception.

The pull out method is Russian roulette when practiced between two fertile people.

Pre-ejaculatory fluid contains sperm and one would not feel it “coming”out in advance of a male orgasm. Also, those orgasms can sneak up on you before the pull out.

Good luck with that, Dad!

I guess I have been lucky these past 5 years then, but I do play with older couples so maybe that helps; and I always go to the restroom to pee afterwards

Speaking as a recent snip-"ee",  does the fact that a potential playmate has had a vasectomy a plus, a minus, or doesn't even factor into consideration when evaluating a new partner in the lifestyle?
    • By Dont.Stop
We are 40-somethings, less than six months into the lifestyle. But we've played plenty in that time. Met a couple a a party last weekend. 50-somethings, and plenty experienced. We got to talking and touching in the pool. While Mrs. DontStop and the male continued pool play, I led the female upstairs. Since it was obvious from the underwater action she was ready to mount me right there, I told as we headed up that we play safe. She said ok, but her husband didn't have any condoms.

We played upstairs and later they joined us. After some time he was ready to mount Mrs and we stopped him and said "You gotta wrap it first."

He didn't say much after that, and within in a few minutes he said he was taking a break and left the room, and us in a FMF situation.

Did we fail here, not expressing safe play to him ahead of time?

I thought it would be interesting to find out other peoples views on the subject of safe sex/being surgically safe. N8tureGirl and I have been in the lifestyle for just over a year now, and we’ve found that most of the males of the couples we’ve played with are not surgically safe. I am V-safe and as of this month, N8tureGirl will be surgically safe also. What I would like to know is: Why don’t more people address this issue? I do realize that there may be some people out here that might still wish to have children, but for the most part, if they haven’t had kids by now, what are they waiting for? After all, most of us here are 30 somethings or older. I have been frustrated by people, (men in particular), who seem to think that it should be our responsibility to make sure a pregnancy doesn’t happen. Condoms don’t always work, and most people say that they don’t like using them since it does change the sensations felt or not felt. To further my opinion on this matter, sterilization is much less expensive and uncomfortable for the men than the women.

When we got into swinging, we didn’t think about the fact that we were going to have to spend thousands (literally), on having the Mrs. fixed so she could enjoy herself without that concern hanging over her head. We’ve been told by more than one man that he was afraid that having the procedure done would hurt. This is a WTF moment for me, is there no pain in bearing a child? What about the financial pain of raising an unplanned child, or worse yet, the emotional pain of terminating an unwanted pregnancy? To me, this smacks of being self centered and makes me want to tell the guy that he can play with us once he gets his business taken care of. Fortunately, that will soon no longer be an issue for us.

I just wanted to hear other peoples' opinions on this issue.

As newbies, my husband Peter and I have learned so much here. We greatly appreciate the community at Swingers Board. As we are seeking to become more involved in swinging, one of our concerns is pregnancy. We are both fertile. If I were to become pregnant, either by Peter or another man, it would be easy for me to have an abortion. However, if he impregnated another woman, it would be up to her to decide what to do, without us having any say. Peter does not like condoms, and of course they can fail. I am urging him to consider having a vasectomy. We are wondering what more experienced couples have faced in terms of pregnancies, vasectomies, or tubal ligations. Also, what situation in the poll best applies to you?

Hi, guys. Long-time lurker, first-time poster.

My wife and I have shared a long-time fantasy involving her blowing a room full of guys. Until recently, this was nothing more than a fantasy we would share in the "heat of the moment." But recently, we decided to turn this fantasy into a reality. We recruited a bunch of single guys from a popular swinger's web site, picked a date, and planned to book a hotel room.

However...the closer we got to this date, the colder our feet became. So we contacted all the guys to let them know the "event" has been put on hold.

The issue for us is the threat of contracting some nasty STD. We've done extensive reading on the subject, and every legitimate site advises you to never have oral sex without a condom, dental dam, etc.. But let's face it -- they HAVE to give you that advice. Of course there is a risk of contracting an STD through oral sex, and to advise someone to have unprotected oral sex would be considered reckless.

But realistically, no one wants to use a condom or dental dam for oral sex. (It would ruin our fantasy, frankly.) No couple we have ever been with has used protection for oral sex. And no one really knows the risk factors involved in having unprotected oral sex (because most people don't limit their exposure to only oral sex.) In reality, some STD's can (and are) transmitted through kissing, hot tubs and even skin-to-skin contact. And statistics show that more than half the people in the US over age 21 have some form of STD. Some STD's don't show up in testing, and others don't reveal themselves through symptoms for weeks, months or even years (if ever.) So most people with STD's don't even know they have them!

We've also read that when performing unprotected oral sex, it is safest to either swallow the cum immediately (letting the stomach acid kill the bacteria) or spit it out immediately. Either way, you are risking exposure to STD's through the exchange of bodily fluids and the thin membranes in the mouth and throat. So, whether you spit, swallow or stop before it gets to the point, you are equally at risk.

The thing is, as swingers, she has sucked several dicks without protection. Were they safer because they were married dicks? Are married guys safer than single guys? If a married guy's wife sucked a dozen dicks the week before you met them, wouldn't having sex with her be just as risky as sucking a dozen dicks yourself?

I guess my question is: is there any more risk in blowing a room full of single guys than having sex with a married couple who may have had unprotected sex with dozens of others prior to meeting you?

Is there a "safe way" to fulfill this fantasy of ours? Or are some fantasies better left as fantasies?

You all give great opinions here, and we value your advice. Thanks in advance.
