Seeking advice and site recommendations

So my wife and I have been thinking about giving to whole "finding couples online" concept a more serious try. We had a free account on SLS for a while, but never really did anything with it. I've read more than a few people here saying that if you want to get the most out of these sites, you pay... which makes a kind of sense... and with SLS effectively doing away with free memberships, I guess it's time to fish or cut bait. But if we're going to pay for a membership, I want to do so wisely.

 

So... the first question is which site to get a membership on? Is SLS a good choice or are there better ones? What are your recommendations for a good site to buy a membership on and why?

 

Any other advice on what to do, what to avoid, etc in setting up a membership and profile would be greatly appreciated.

We paid for a lifetime membership on SLS and also on Kasidie. Seems like those are the best two sites in our area, but different sites are popular in different regions. For us, the best benefit of these sites is finding out about parties/events in our area. Then, when we meet people at these events, we learn their usernames and use the sites to look up their profiles and send messages to meet up for dates.

I just did a search on SLS for couples of any age within 75 miles of New Castle, Indiana. There were 323 hits.

We are members of SLS and SDC. SLS is big in NJ. SDC is big in Florida, where we often vacation. My only disappointment is that we rarely write to another couple and have it result in play or even a meeting. The sweet spot of swinging is 40 to 50 and at our age of 60, most seem to have retired from swinging. However, we do think it’s worth it for the listing of groups and events.

In your area, swingerzonecentral is more popular. We live in nwi and travel indy regularly, so we are on both sls and szc, using sls up here and szc anywhere to the south. The most important aspect of online swinging is to use one that everyone in your area uses, hands down. For you, that is szc in our experience.

 

As far as advice... pay for the membership... it is peanuts compared to what it costs to live the lifestyle (parties, travel, clubs, outfits, dates...) and the value you get out of it is worth it. Think of what you invest in having a great marriage, and this is an investment in expanding your life together. Btw, we, and most others, ignore free profiles as it shows they may not be commited and a risk for not showing up or newbie drama. Pay for a month, work your spouse to write a good profile, and learn how to use all the features. When they have a sale, get a lifetime membership, they are a great value. With Craigslist shut down, these sites are the best online option currently for online matching.
