Melgriff 15 Posted February 4, 2019 So the hubby and I have never tried swinging, but I would love to go on a swinging cruise. So I see all these pics from swinging cruises but they are all thin people. Hubby and I are bigger people. Well hubby has a huge you know what so I am not worried about him. But I am a women’s size 18 with rolls and all. Would a swingers cruise be a waist of time for us? Like are most of the people there average size people? Quote Share this post Link to post
the Nomads 78 Posted February 4, 2019 Disclaimer: I have not been on a cruise yet so I cannot answer your specific question. That being said there are some beautiful people in this lifestyle but by and large it is a representative cross section of the population I think. If this is your first step into swinging you may not want to start with a cruise. We started with a house party and a club night. I actually found that the club night was more laid back. Just imagine the scenario if you are stuck on a ship for 5 days and on day one you determine that you have some issues with swinging. Especially if you guys have a jealousy issue it could make even walking to dinner difficult. Just my $0.02. We are very new still. BTW Welcome to the board. njbm 2,880 Posted February 4, 2019 I would say most of the people are HWP and body awareness is a priority. I have had weight problems all my life, which I periodically address through dieting. As the comedian Martin Short said, I’ve been on Jenny Craig more than Mr. Craig. Having been on many cruises, there are overweight people. Also, there are, I am sure, HWP people who want to play with bigger people. I would not let weight stop you. However, if you go on a cruise, it could give you a target date to lose some weight, not just for the cruise, but for better health. Quote Share this post Link to post
njbm 2,880 Posted February 4, 2019 Also note that quite a few people on the cruises are newbies and just like the sexy vibe and may not swing. I also find that most experienced swingers are kind to newbies and respect their limits, because early bad experiences will drive newbies out of the lifestyle. You can have fun on the cruise even if you do not swing. Seminars, shows, dances, excursions, eating(!), etc. Plenty of people to meet. We have great fun on these cruises. There is a cover for every pot. Quote Share this post Link to post
GoldCoCouple 4,066 Posted February 4, 2019 Swingers look JUST LIKE everybody else. Some are thin, some are not, some are tall, some are not. Take a look around you and what you see is probably a good cross reference to what swingers look like (since they are just like everyone else). The reason the pictures only show thin 'beautiful people' is because EVERY ADVERT for anything is going to show thin beautiful people (if you saw a bunch of ugly, overweight people, would you be interested in going?). On one of our trips to Desire, we met a very nice couple that we talked with for awhile. We called them 'Jack Sprat' since he was very thin, but his wife was very...not thin. The thing was, she owned it and WORKED it. She was very comfortable in her skin and they were very fun to talk with. There is always going to be someone 'prettier' or better looking, but there is probably someone who isn't as 'pretty' as you are (or nice or funny or whatever). Most likely you will find another couple that you are interested in but it is also best to try finding a forum that has others that are going to attend the same cruise so you can start talking and find some others that you are familiar with before stepping on the boat. micknchris 27 Posted March 9, 2019 We went on lifestyle cruise last Nov. and had a blast. The wife was sorry she did not bring sexier clothes. I pointed out to her that there were many women with her body type or heavier that were wearing very revealing clothes. You know what? They were sexy because they felt and acted sexy. I'm mid 60's and generally not that confident, but I had a couple approach me to play with them and I did (I had a "hall pass" because my wife hurt her back with first couple we played with and was taking it easy. Not because the guy was rough, just one of those things that happen as we get older). Anyway, the point is this, if I can attract a couple, anyone can find a couple to play with. I saw very overweight grey haired men with gorgeous younger women in the outdoor play area and also curvy women with hot guys, so go for it and carry yourself with confidence.
