Pklon 62 Posted June 3, 2019 I wrote the same topic a few years ago then disappeared along with a few other topic/post that I wrote. No really reason was given, unless there was and it was sent to my email but it was in my spam/junk folder. I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but I guess the mods can move it if they like. With the disaster show from A&E " Neighbors With Benefits " back in 2015. Do you think it time to see another swingers base reality show. Many people here in the site criticize how bad it was, there was even one person saying it was a train wreck. To me I always find these swingers reality show always seem to always have the same group age in there shows ( the late 20s and early 30s and with less then 5 yrs experience ), why can they get different people in different age group or people who with 10 to 20+ yrs of swingers experience in them. Also with the older swingers, if they have kids of there own, ask them what they think about there parents lifestyle and also ask them if they think about becoming swingers themselves if there not already. I think a good idea would be is to have 7 or so couples with different age group and different years of experience with maybe 2 singles (a male and female). The world of reality show is getting bigger each year, today with Amazon Prime and Netflix and the many other, they do not have to rely on paid cable networks like Showtime and HBO about there lifestyle. Or should there not be any more attempts on reality show base on the Swingers lifestyle ? Quote Share this post Link to post
padoc 1,703 Posted June 3, 2019 Just what we need, ANOTHER lame reality tv show. I say bring back Gunsmoke, NYPD Blue, ER, St Elsewhere, LA Law, The Newsroom, hell, even I Dream of Jeannie. Someone in the 60's famously said that tv is a "vast wasteland". The guy should see it now!! 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Manitobacpl 81 Posted June 3, 2019 Definitely a big no on the “reality “ show ... but maybe an in-depth documentary ? Perhaps giving details of human evolution, and how a lot of natural practices have been forcefully removed by church and stuffed shirt politicians? 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
GoldCoCouple 4,066 Posted June 3, 2019 While we would be one of the first people to embrace a TV show/movie/anything that showed swinging in a POSITIVE light, it isn't going to happen. 'Reality' TV shows are NOT REAL (had a relative that was on one and he told us that the produces regularly said 'if it COULD happen, it's reality'). Lets just imagine a reality show about swinging (or fill in the blank for whatever show you would like to see) was made and the couples involved were solid couples that communicated well. They would get together, have fun, then leave to live their lives...what fun is that (and by fun I mean drama). Unless there is drama and people are involved in train wrecks, nobody is going to watch the show. Hummm, real people who love, communicate, respect each other deciding to do grown things together that LOTS of other people wish they had the guts to do, living normal lives other than having sex with other people...how interesting would that be, especially after the first couple of shows having the exact same results (sex with no explosions or fireworks). Cancelled before the season ends. Toss in the Bible belt wanting to deny that anything like this exists and all of the religious origination's...the thought that people could be HAPPY doing this is just CRAZY! Won't ever happen and if it does, it will, once again, just be a train wreck so the viewers can feel better about their own sad boring lives (hey, they are living their lives watching others live their own lives). Wish it was possible, but I don't ever seeing it happen where swinging is placed in a positive light. Quote Share this post Link to post
PeterJ 948 Posted June 3, 2019 Someone in the 60's famously said that tv is a "vast wasteland". The guy should see it now!! Newton Minnow. And yes, I expect he’d be rolling in his grave. Or to update Bruce Springsteen’s lyric from 30 years ago “900 channels and nothing on.” Quote Share this post Link to post
Hotwifeswinger 38 Posted June 4, 2019 There was a show on tv a while back called swingtown. Swingers in the suburbs in 1976. Entertaining. Very retro which is cool. I think it lasted one season. Not a reality show but a reg tv show. Worth the watch if you can find it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swingtown Quote Share this post Link to post

cplnuswing 4,713 Posted June 5, 2019 Or should there not be any more attempts on reality show base on the Swingers lifestyle ? ^^ This. Swingers reality show, or ANY reality show. I absolutely detest them. As you point out, I'm obviously in the minority there since that's what seems to get the rating nowadays, but that's ok with me. Beyond my dislike of the whole format, my reasons would be we as swingers aren't going to be well-served by having a reality show as our "public face" to the rest of the world. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Playboy TV "Swing" has a format similar to a "reality" show. Ran 5 seasons & quit. You can usually find the 1st 4 seasons streaming (for free) at various sites online. While it is a bit skewed in the presentation (younger players, extremely controlled environment, etc.), it does give a decent peek into the LS. Anyone who is curious may want to give it a look. https://www.google.com/search?q=playboy+tv+swing Enjoy! Quote Share this post Link to post
Baconheads 432 Posted June 13, 2019 The problem with a swinger reality TV show would be that to "win" at swinging, there has to be zero drama. That's the Holy Grail. What gets ratings with TV shows is drama. So it's totally The reverse of what makes a successful swinging couple. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

What gets ratings with TV shows is drama. So it's totally The reverse of what makes a successful swinging couple. I agree. There no percentage for the TV producers for a swinger show about successful swingers. Essentially the reality shows are about Crash & Burn. Like the YouTube videos of auto accidents, aircraft crashes, and bullies getting punked and owned. Folks who live vicariously love that stuff, but I'd be bored 10-20 minutes in. A legit documentary might be interesting. Alternately there a increasing amount of fiction about alternative life styles. 'Easy' on NetFlix is a really well done series of fictional stories about urban professionals in Chicago. Some stories touch on the LS, a few go deeply into it, and many are about other bits of almost ordinary lives. There another show from Britain of a married middle class couple who tries a open marriage and finds all the pitfalls. Both are well done, tho Easy is probably the better. Both have a healthy mix of humor and serious moments & neither gets very melodramatic of cheesy. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
GoldCoCouple 4,066 Posted June 14, 2019 Dating naked had one show about a couple looking for a unicorn, but it still wasn't that exciting. Quote Share this post Link to post
