It's just one more toy that gets some use every now and then for however long it seems interesting at the time. Thinking of it as some sort of compensatory measure seems like the wrong way to think about it. We have tried those sleeves with the little tickler nubs on them, and we both thought is was just sort of meh and more of a pain in the ass than anything since it never really wanted to do just right. Another brand or design or something might be better, but the first one didn't show enough promise to make us want to put any more effort or money into trying different ones.
