Can anyone tell me of a resort (I've only found 2) Caliente and Paradise Lakes that cater more towards older couples (55 plus)....traveling first part of May and looking to ease into some play experiences---either voyeur or possible soft swap...TIA

I do not have a reason to believe that the people at Paradise Lakes intentionally “cater” to older people. But it is a fact that there is a greater proportion of we old folk at PL.

In viewing both their websites, Paradise Lakes looks a little more laid back...would you think going there over a weekend that we had a good chance of being successful in what I described before...or do you think I need to take a different approach...we are traveling to Florida for 9 days and doing a little recon for retirement there---touring The Villages for 4 days of our stay there...any ideas you could give would be appreciated.

Re-read your post and noticed your question included play experiences. I would be remiss if I failed to mention that neither Caliente nor Paradise Lakes are swingers' resorts. Both are clothing-optional resorts. Many of the members and residents are swingers but if you pursue one of those members who perceives a swinger as a nudist nuisance, you might face embarrassment . You are likely to meet swingers, but take care.

Yes, we will proceed with caution....I have read a few reviews for both resorts and noticed many mention lifestyle or swinger.....our limited experience includes visiting a club twice and a same room same couple with a little interaction between the ladies.

We went to Caliente and age wise, you’ll be just fine there. We’re 55/53.

Caliente was pretty laid back during the day. The first day we were there, there was one pool in the back where a few folks were playing.  Nobody was offended or seemed really uptight. At night, they do have a night club w/ a band or dance music & it was fun. After we left their night club, the conversation pool and hot tub were available for play.  The next night we were there, there was a house party on the property. At about 1am maybe, they transported people from the night club to the house party and then back later on.  Not a bad experience but I could tell there were probably a mix of nudists and swingers there.

Thanks for the information...

Not sure if I should open another thread, but we will be touring The Villages while in Florida and also wanted to find out if anyone was familiar with any groups there...we planned on staying there for 4 nights and understand that there are many people in the lifestyle there as well.

Best way to check for groups around The Villages is by using SLS

We use go on vacation to Paradise Lakes and visit Caliente but due to family obligations we weren't able to go for the last few years. At that time Paradise Lake seemed to have a bit of an older crowd than Caliente and they both stated that they were NOT lifestyle resorts, so no sex in public. They do have nightclubs for dancing and drinks where local swingers used like a meet and greet. It now appears that there is a lifestyle group associated with Paradise called Tampa Lifestyles Connection. If you go on SLS and look under Florida groups you will see that they have "booked" two parties in May. We haven't been to one - can't make a recommendation

If you have been there for a few years, you too, are older now.

I am curious about this and if anyone has had a full swap experience there. When we lived in Florida the topic came up a few times with our lifestyle friends and the suggestion was to go with swinger friends to avoid frustration. I would think it would be an erotic experience but, we were told that they were nudist centric and that management as well as the pure nudists would frown on sexual activities. I did hear that it was possible to hook up with swingers. We never went because we had a bad and embarrassing experience at the Rooftop Hotel in Hollywood beach. While it is advertised as a swingers hotel/resort, the nudists that dominate the pool area are aggressive in the nudist behavior rules.

We had made a grave mistake and swapped with a couple in the pool. Some self appointed leader interrupted us and told us to go somewhere else. I was mortified and we left. We made the walk of shame with the guys sporting erections. I did go to the desk later and the woman told me to ignore them and we could fuck anywhere we wanted except the lobby. We figured that management wasn't going to do anything about it to risk their income from the nudists who paid for day passes to sunbathe nude on the roof. It was frustrating enough for us to avoid going to any nudist resorts or campgrounds even though we know that there would be some swingers around.

Caliente has discovered in the last 10 years or so that swingers travel for sex and that they spend a lot more money than nudists. Consequently, it has become way more swinger friendly according to our friends. Last time we were there , about 5 years ago, we decided we'd BYOFWB and went with 3 other couples and had a wonderful weekend. The time before that, we had gone alone, met a couple by the pool and had a nice afternoon with them before we totally offended them by inviting them back to our room. She said, "you're swingers"? with a look she'd have likely has if she had just stepped in fresh, warm dog shit. That's why we decided to BYOFWB. SDC has some events at the resort that had been well attended. Let us know your experiences if you go. We've been considering another visit.

My wife and I have been to both, and can attest to what has been said here. While there were folks in their 50's at both, Caliente seemed more of a "partying 40's" type crown. Paradise lakes was more laid back. Neither are advertised as LS, but once the sun goes down, all bets are off. This goes for both places. I don't think you could go wrong at either place, as they've been been a lot of fun for us. Caliente seems to have more "play" if I had to pick one.
