cplnuswing 4,713 Posted September 9, 2020 This is a shame, our first taste of the Lifestyle was at Menages in Nashville in this cool old building they had, lots of fun memories made there...but no longer. The people are what make or break a club, way more than the building, but still a shame... It was a well run club, Just hope they are able to come back in some form or fashion, eventually find a good permanent venue, and then start building on that back to what it was. STILL NOT ALLOWED TO OPEN Nashville continues its lock down with recent modifications. For us that means no dance floor, no standing at the bar, limited attendance, social distancing, closed by 10.30 pm and so on. Hence Menages remains closed. There is no clear indication of when we will be able to open in the future and operate normally. CLUB BUILDING SOLD The club building has been sold to our neighbor the Room In The Inn. They provide an array of services to Nashville's homeless community. They offered us an early termination of our lease agreement with some great incentives for us to leave . We decided to accept their offer. For the last six months we have been liable for rent, insurances, services and so on. We do not know how long this shut down will continue for. We are very appreciative of the offer the board of Room In The Inn made to us. We wish them the best of success in moving forward with what they do. NEW VENUE We are actively looking for a new venue. There are city, county and state requirements that have to meet for us to be able to operate legally. This includes the venue being in an industrial zone and 1,000 ft away from any religious institution, school, park or residence. We also want to stay in Davidson county. These are limiting factors under which we have to find possible venues. If you or anybody you know has any suggestion of possible venues, within the above parameters, please let me know gm@menagesclub.com. We do not know how long this search will take. Hopefully not too long. UP COMING EVENTS In the meantime until our new venue is ready to go, we will be holding select events at different locations in and around middle Tennessee. These venues may include event centers, private lodges, mansions or select hotels. HALLOWEEN We will be doing a Halloween event on Saturday the 31st of October. Details will be announced very soon. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
PeterJ 960 Posted September 9, 2020 Sad news but not at all surprising. The past six months have been very hard for most small businesses, particularly those that serve the public in person — whether the general public or specific segments — such as restaurants, gyms and (for our community) swing clubs. The next six to twelve months, until a safe and effective vaccine has been tested, manufactured and broadly deployed, will be tougher on these businesses still. Large corporate restaurant and fitness chains may have the financial resources to survive, but most of the mom & pop restaurants, fitness centers and (are there any other kind) swingers clubs that haven’t already closed permanently will do so in the next few months. That’s the bad news. The good news is that the barriers to entry for these businesses are all relatively low and there is generally a more than adequate supply of entrepreneurial candidates to address the market’s demand. And once fear of Covid-19 subsides most of us will be eager to resume recreational sex with old friends and for opportunities to make new ones. Swingers clubs, whether those that have been in hibernation or new ones, will bloom. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

Due to restrictions on venue locations and popularity of swinging/ dating apps and websites the swinging clubs of old are probably a dying breed. Look for more hotel take overs or facilities rentals by "swinging groups" as the preferred location because all of the profits and fun without hassle of ownership and compliance to state laws. Essentially the rise of "pop-up" swinging clubs or "flash mob" type swinging events... Agree. The changes COVID-19 is having on our social fabric cannot be over-stated, and the changes we're experiencing in the lifestyle are profound--some good, some not-so. On the positive side, in terms of swinging, undoubtedly we are seeing a far greater emphasis on healthy choices. COVID-19 has created a much higher level of awareness of the existence of communicable diseases and the importance of vaccinations and taking "reasonable" precautions (I know, the definition of "reasonable" has changed quite a bit.) However, on the negative side, spontaneity is taking a big hit. The idea of going to a swingers club, hoping to hook up with a random individual or couple, is probably a thing of the past. Frankly, we gave up on that kind of thing long before COVID-19 was part of our daily conversation. IOHO, the potential payoff was not worth the risks--health and otherwise. Of course, we appreciate that others felt differently, and have always supported the rights of individuals to choose what is best for themselves. Going forward, there will be far more emphasis on virtual (electronic) means of introduction and communication. Most group events will be planned, invitation-only affairs with known quantities. Business models that cater to swingers are going to have some very high hurdles to overcome. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
njbm 2,901 Posted November 7, 2020 People who are not sensitive to covid19 transmission are most likely not fazed by STDs. We are surprised by how many events are going on. We attended Naughty in Nawlins last year. To our surprise, it looks like it is happening next week. Hope they give out hazmat suits! We used to go to hotel parties. We are more likely to just meet another couple. Safer, quieter, you know you are going to score, less games. Not playing now due to pandemic. Quote Share this post Link to post
