I am thinking they get tested for covid and STDs. Maybe I am wrong. Any information about this subject would helps us make a decision. Maybe a bar would be best for our first time.

If pay-for-play sex is what your after, and assuming you are located stateside, your best bet is to take a trip to Nevada and head out to one of the ten counties outside of Las Vegas where prostitution is legal and (somewhat) regulated. It will be pricey, but your experience is less likely to be a total disaster.

 

Otherwise, wait for the pandemic to subside and book a flight to Amsterdam, where prostitution is legal, well-regulated and considered to be just another way to make a living.  The prostitutes even have a workers union. Amsterdam has an entire district in the city devoted to the sex trade and you can find whatever it is you are longing for, from the tame to as wild as you want to get. It's comparatively safe as the police are never far away. Most of the crime is small time petty stuff, like pickpockets, etc. Violence is uncommon, but is not unheard of.

 

Otherwise, you're playing with fire. Aside from those ten counties in Nevada, prostitution is illegal in every other county in every other state. Prostitution is almost entirely run by organized crime, either small scale pimps or syndicated crime organizations (i.e., mafia, drug gangs, biker gangs, etc.) Most call girls are drug users of some kind and hook to support their habits and/or the habits of their pimps. And many wouldn't have any qualms about slipping you a roofie and making off making off with whatever they can steal. Prostitution is a dirty, illegal business and there is nothing "safe" about it.

Try a swinger club!  There are a few good ones in Vegas, probably more in the Bay Area, assuming you are in Lake Tahoe.

While Tahoe is close to Nevada, escorts are rather expensive and you still run the risk of having to explain what you were doing if they are police instead of an escort. There is a swingers club in Reno (we haven't been there but maybe some day) called Pokher Knights (yes, that is the correct spelling) that has really good reviews. We, however, say just set up a profile on one of the swinger sites and go that route as well. No matter which path you take, report back and let us know how things are going for you two. Good luck!

Way before Covid we thought we would go the escort route looking for a unicorn. We just thought it was riskier, for no reason and went with ads. Ads were risky too maybe riskier than hiring a pro.

I live in the US and since it's mostly illegal here there are no requirements that escorts get regularly tested for covid or std's.  Maybe they do if you live someplace where sex for money is legal and it's regulated.

Decriminalize Sex Work. Business and health care! Although then they would have been shut down for COVID at least as long as the gyms, can't win!

The 2018 SESTA/FOSTA law made safely finding an escort significantly more difficult.  Most of the websites and forums where you could previously interact with escorts or get access to their personal webpages are now gone.   We have not used the services of one, but my wife and I discussed it, given the scarcity of unicorns and our specific wants out of FFM threesome.   While prostitution and human trafficking are different things, the two are heavily intertwined legally, and commonly conflated by law enforcement (ie Robert Kraft's massage parlor incident).  For those reason, my advice would be to stick to states and countries where it is legal.
