I just read this and had two thoughts.

 

1. Pretty good article. Hits on many of the threads that come up here. In fact, it could have been written by any number of folks here in our community.

 

2. I'd love to understand why we (collective we) and the author use the term "sleep with" in this context. That is the LAST thing we do and certainly isn't an appropriate descriptor. This must be rooted in Puritian values or something. It's use certainly does soften the true intent of not only monogamous couples but all the swingers out there.

Good article. The hobby is under the radar and somewhat mysterious, this is a good beginners’ guide.

BTW: sleeping is the last thing we are doing with other couples. We rarely 'sleep' with others, but we do have trouble sleeping if one or the other of us isn't there.

Ah, it's just convenient shorthand that everyone's understood for a couple of centuries now. About the same as 'hooking up,' - you can do that without being a pirate, right?
