There is a very common women's health condition caused Bacterial Vaginosis. There are many causes and the odor can differ depending on the bacteria involved, but it's also easily treatable and usually preventable with some changes in personal habits.

 

There may not be a polite way to bring it up to your partner, but just so that you know it's harmless and common, but also not completely typical.

 

Since you mentioned that you first noticed it during oral sex with your first partner, I'm assuming you haven't had intercourse. However, intercourse can definitely make it worse, especially if her body isn't used to it.

A doctor prescribed suppositories to his patient, but he didn’t explain how to use them.

Or the couple who got birth control pills from the doctor. They returned a couple of months later pregnant. The doctor asked if they had been using the pills. The lady said yes but the pills keep falling out.

My mother gave me an aspirin as birth control. I said Ma, I’m not stupid, this an aspirin it’s not birth control. She answered if I put it between my knees and not let go it will be.
