let's do it again 416 Posted January 3, 2023 Menopause has affected my swinging for the good and bad. My ex wife shut down swinging during menopause, said she lost her desire for any sex. Now with my SO, she feels more liberated and loves the freedom since menopause. What has your experience been going thru menopause and how has affected swinging and sex? njbm 2,901 Posted January 3, 2023 Not telling on my wife, but women we met in menopause have a problem with vaginal dryness. There are other threads on here with good suggestions. It is a widespread problem. Probably explains many swinging dropouts. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
hunterdonNJcpl 1,421 Posted January 3, 2023 Menopause definitely slowed swinging to a crawl. My wife hit menopause the same time as the covid lockdowns. We had been looking forward to returning to pre-covid lifestyle activity but now i don't think we'll ever get back. We played four times in 2022 down from about 12-14 times in 2018. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
njbm 2,901 Posted January 4, 2023 (edited) There is a thread called “Dryness” on this board that is worth reading. Edited January 4, 2023 by njbm Quote Share this post Link to post
Sprocket 18 Posted January 4, 2023 Like others have experienced, my ex wife lost interest in swinging and sex in general which was unfortunate. After my marriage dissolved I met a lady who, not long before we met, underwent hysterectomy surgery resulting in hormonal issues. However, her interest in sex did not skip a beat. We had some very long and wonderful sessions of lust. Unfortunately she was not into the swinging lifestyle. Quote Share this post Link to post
Billygoat 445 Posted January 4, 2023 For us as she went through menopause it all slowed down. She still tried very hard to give me time but many times it was obvious that she wasn’t really in to it, just something she did for me. She would attend parties and events and time with our friends but her drive and interest came to a stop. Once the life of the party she just didn’t have interest any more. She also lost much of her self confidence and became very critical of herself. When our last club location shut down she said she really didn’t want to attend any more and thought we should just move on. We still have many great friends and attachments that we still maintain and enjoy time with but primarily social. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
ROCKlandCpl 452 Posted January 4, 2023 Menopause has been a blessing and a curse for us in that it took away one of the fears of sex, pregnancy, which went along with dryness. So far for me menopause has not reduced my desire to have sex, it may have had the opposite effect for me. The dryness was a gradual occurrence going from being very lubricated to the point of pain during sex. Innocent me knew about lubricants I just didn’t know how or where to apply it. Now I have a launcher that was suggested on here. The beauty of asking without embarrassing conversations. At our age Rocky and I are playing with couples on both sides of menopause where I am not the only woman having dryness something some women are more willing to open up about. Some are taking hormones, HRT, others are using different forms of lubricants and finally I am opening up to have the talk. I didn’t complain to my GYN, a mistake, as she sees this on a day to day problem. I don’t know what the future will bring right now my desire is still strong. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
