I am not very informed about the Bible or the various stories, but I do wonder about the actions and subsequent consequences of those who were involved in the early formation of "the Church" that eventually became a lot of churches. The culture of monotheism that became Christianity (and others) borrowed from others (Christmas trees, anyone??) but incorporated the biases of the early founders so we now have the consequences of celibacy impacting the lives of (primarily) women and children in today's world.
Inasmuch as churchgoers look at women as equals, don't stone anybody and look to improve lives, I'm all in. When they pick at what women can wear, how they should act in public and endorse the actions of men who act like animals, I'm out.
Then you get to specific, personal behaviors and preferences, like swinging. I would expect it is not approved by any major religion, but when it is practiced by people like those on this Board where it is consensual, care is given to the ability to say no, and a good time is had by all...why aren't we seeing religions on board for such an inexpensive, safe and pleasure-delivering activity? Sometimes I think the psychotics play a role that is way too prominent.
