I wondered the same thing.We've been swinging for more than 15 years and have met hundreds of couples. Please understand that we've not been intimate with all of them or even half of them but open swingers are a very small portion of the general population. So, I'd say we've met and talked with a lot of swingers in two hotbeds (pun!!) of this hobby, the Northeast I-95 corridor and South Florida. I'd think we have a decent sized sample. Most of those we've known are still in their marriage/relationship and many are still swinging. I think those would be great threads, and tbose kind of topics are exactly why we created the Swingers Labels and Lingo forum here. One can debate whether the need to split hairs and come up with a new label for it is a good thing or not, but fact is, words sre important since they help everyone understand the situation at hand, and that helps avoid getting yourself into situations that weren't at all what you expected, which is never a good thing. Another thing I have noticed too that is interesting is how some zwingers may a swinging term one way, and the nonswinging world may use the same swinging term another. One example would be "MFM threesome" vs. "MMF threesome". To some swingers I think those two are seen differently, firat one no male on male sex, second one with male on male. When you look at those two terms regarding their use in google searches, from the relative numbers it's obvious that the world at large favors the MMF as any threesome involving two males and one female. Wow, you are singing our tune. His parents retired and are living with us 6 months of the year with eventual plans to live full time. House is plenty big but they don't know we are in the LS. He's right: the healthy human mouth is actually armed with a few mechanisms that protect it from foreign potentially harmful "bugs". Digestion actually begins in the mouth with an enzyme called salivary amylase which begins to break substances down in the mouth. Depending on the hardiness of the organism, this may or may not kill some or all of it. Also present in saliva is a protein called mucin, which encapsulates loose bacteria, rendering it harmless until it can be swallowed and destroyed in the stomach. There are, of course, many types of bacteria that can and do get past the mouth's line of defense, but it's not the most effective way to catch something. However... I was only talking about a very healthy mouth. If your gums bleed when you floss or brush, you're at risk. Any of you who have heart disease, diabetes, heart valve disorders, have had rheumatic fever, etc. are usually required to take a prophylactic antibiotic before you get your dental cleaning, because more often than not, the cleaning does compromise the integrity of the gum tissue, even if your gums are otherwise healthy. Actually, there is a lot less risk of catching a disease with oral sex than with vaginal sex. The mouth and stomach are filled with powerful chemicals intended to protect the body from invading organisms. The AIDS virus, in particular, is very fragile and cannot survive stomach acid. The vagina does not have such protection. If it did, those chemicals would kill sperm, too, and we'd no longer have people. Still, in our opinion, we can be much safer when having sex with other couples by choosing those couples carefully. If you don't have sex with someone who has an STD, you won't get an STD. The more partners you have, the more likely you are to get an STD. That's why we like long-term friendships with our play partners and have no interest in going to clubs.
