Indeed. We know a LS couple or two who contemplated moving to The Villages, and decided that it was not how they wanted to golden years to unfold (or unravel, as the case may be). The core questions in later years--health issues aside--revolve around the balance between community and tranquility: whilst the image of "cheek-to-cheek" has its attractions, the image of "cheek-by-jowl" has decidedly fewer, and neither seems inviting without the opportunity for respite. It is this paradox, namely that community is attractive only when retreat is easy, that faces couples approaching retirement. While retirement communities--vanilla, nudist, swinger--are attractive to some, they struck us as potentially nicer places to visit than to live.

I’m not a big fan of the Brit tabloid press, and this nearly seven-year-ludicrous article contains numerous examples of why. I’m not into the elder-shaming, sex shaming as titillation or general looking-down-the-nose tone the “undercover” (really? Undercover?) writer has taken. While on the subject of The Villages, I know there are some swingers who live there because of met them at parties in Orlando. But I also have older lifestyle friends who shun living there because of the lack of privacy. As one of them said to me (paraphrasing) “Everyone is into everyone else’s business.”

We (or should I say me, he never posts anymore) have gone from spending 3-4 nights per week in a swing club to staying home. Hi and welcome to the board! You may be the jealous type, but you deserve credit for being open minded enough to explore this lifestyle! Sex is important in a relationship, but not everything. We look a it this way: why would either of us leave each other when we have the freedom to enjoy other people through swinging? Swinging is not about choosing one person over another, it's about having both. Why would your boyfriend leave you for a woman with big tits if you let him enjoy those big tits with your blessing? He is not likely to leave a relationship that gives him this freedom.
