Why do people use "divorce" as a threat when upset? It is like the catch phrase of the times. If you step out of line It is divorce. In our relationship, that isn't even a word in our vocabulary, I think we are strange, as the divorce rate is 52% on this continent. Maybe it was our upbringing, but it isn't even a option, let alone a word used out of anger. Are marriage vows that meaningless that we can throw the D word around like it means nothing. I think i was born in the wrong time. I belive in the old ways you married someone for life. I can understand if there is abuse or cheating but it seems in todays society there is no reason to small to warrent a divorce, actually you don't need a real reason at all. So maybe the way this should go is for those of us who have never been divorced, What is your secret to a great longlasting marriage? Ours communication, honesty and intimacy, It has worked for 12 yrs.so far.

We discussed this idea here before (I think) that of how it seems so many couples who swing are in their second (or more) marriage. I was having a conversation with a (divorced) friend of mine tonight and he made the comment that once you've been divorced it is much easier to see what makes a relationship work (whether it be yours or someone else's) and what is bad for a relationship. So that got me back to the idea that often swinging couples are not on their first relationship so I thought I'd pose this thought/question to you and see what you think about it. First off (see the poll above) is this your first, second, third marriage? Assuming you are even married, of course. And if you are not on your first marriage, do you think that having been married previously helped you to see why swinging may be a good thing in this relationship? Do you think going through a bad relationship helped improve your communication skills to the point where you could even discuss such ideas?

I'm new here, visited this site because my wife and i are open with having sex with other people and done so some in the past. When I was still young i thought i would only marry a woman that had been only with me. Then after i found out that my fiance had screwed another guy i thought it was OK, or even hot. But overall she had fewer partners than me. Later, both my first wife and my now wife have both had more partners than me, my first wife a few more but then she fucked other guys while we were engaged and married, and my current wife a LOT more. so my attitude has changed considerable since I was young and first dating. My question is- Before you got married did you have any limits about how many previous sex partners your wife had that would be too many? Women are welcome to contribute too. Thanks to all of you.

I searched the forum but haven't found anything on the topic, so let us know: is wearing your wedding or engagement ring mandatory when swinging, mandatory only in special circumstances such a playing alone or at the first meeting or swing session, or not an issue? If wearing a ring is something you do, then explain whether it is a sign of commitment or done because it is a turn-on. Thanks.
