Hi all, I want to start out by saying that we love our friends, but sometimes our situation makes it difficult to party like they do. We are in a fairly active group of swinger friends who like to host parties, and the group has a pretty diverse social, economic and ethnic spectrum. We love this group and the friends in it, but their parties, while enjoyable, can be a little difficult for us. You see, these parties generally start late evening, often in public locations such as vanilla nightclubs, and end up at a hotel or back at one of our friend's houses. This would all be well and good except by the time we actually start playing it is now 3 to 4 a.m. (6 a.m. last Saturday). Most people at the party are fine with this, but we seem to be the only regular members of the group who have our children either on a full time basis, or that they haven't grown into fairly self sufficient teens yet. We usually have a pretty limited time with sitters, and by the time we get to playing (if we get to playing) we are running toward a sleep deprived rest of the weekend. I'm pretty much just venting as this doesn't have any solutions save buying a bigger house to throw our own parties with our timelines, and waiting for the kids to grow up. Guess I'm still a little grumpy and trying to catch up on my sleep...
